Default RCCL Curfew

Something I found interesting...

Last week my good friend was on the Brilliance of the Seas, she is 17, and not a trouble-maker at all. However at 1am she was told to return to her cabin because she was not 18. She turns 18 on Monday. Has anyone else been told to go back to their rooms on RCCL because they are underage? She told me she was just playing cards with her cousins and they came up to her and told her to leave?

It intrigued me.

How does RCCL have the right to tell someone to return to their room at such an early time, on THEIR VACATION, when they wernt doing anything disruptive?

I think the thing with the curfew is it very rarely gets enforced so people rarely complain, although your right it is a bit harsh, I suppose if she was doing a teen activity this would not happen.

Default curfew

yeahh i was on brilliance last summer in europe .. actually the same time as when the incident with the honeymooners happened. pretty intense cruise ahha.

but anyway they had the curfew and were pretty strict bout it too.. the security guards like chased after us to make sure we went back to our rooms. it was hard to stay out since they were pretty much looking everywhere. even on the last night which sucked cause ive never heard of a cruiseline with a curfew.

i asked one of the teen director ppl cause it was really beginning to annoy all of us and this inforced this rule cause some teenagers on one ship were tipsy and they started doing stupid/dangerous stuff.

I really thought this was stupid, I can see if you are doing something disruptive, but she was just playing cards- not like shes a troublemaker, she goes to West Point.

I dont think they should tell you what to do, your on YOUR vacation. haha

the cruise lines have the right to do anything they want. And I think that they are just doing it for your protection. After 1 am nothing good happens anyway.

This is part of the newly (well since late 2005) instated "Guest Vacation Policy" The policy should be made known to you on all ships during the Guest Emergency Assembly Drill. It was designed to provide all guests with an enjoyable experience, the rules include, no swearing, rowdy beavior etc. the usual but the curfew is part of it and by sailing you agree to the terms of the Guest Vacation Policy therefore Royal Caribbean Intl. reserves the right to ask anyone voilating the policy to return to their cabin. However I have sailed royal over 20 times and many of which were during the policy's existance. Personally i have never expereinced or known/seen anyone on whom the policy was enforced. Security is pretty loose as long as you are not causing trouble but if you are in unauthorized areas or yelling, screaming, running etc after 1 then chances are you will be asked to leave. I dont think you have anything to worry about though as long as you act mature and don't draw attn. to yourself. And questions: IM, PM or E-mail me at Ryanspecialevent@msn.com

do you know if it's enforced on the bermuda cruises on the empress?

me and my sister, who is 17, will be turning 18 on the last night, are usually not in our rooms until 2ish or later. and we're really not excite about a curfew at all!

as I said beofre it very rarely gets enforced, if you are being loud and brash in public areas and are in a group then you might well get sent to your cabin but as long as you either stick to the teen areas or behave yourself in the public areas then I doubt there will be much of a problem.

When I went on Sovereign that rule was barely enforced. I was out till like 2-3 each morning, and never got caught nor yelled at.

Worse comes to worse and you get told to go back, you just fake leaving, and go back out
