club 02
Hey im gonna be goin on my 1st cruise in bout 3 weeks. I was wonderin how the club 02 is on the ships. Is there any rules for dancing? Im 15, sooo i want it to be like a real teen club experience! Any info. would be helpful!

kiwihotchocolate July 5th, 2006 01:47 PM

I was wondering too. I leave Saturday on Carnival Glory, so I'll let you know.

DanPolulak July 5th, 2006 02:36 PM

Hey we have three basic rules.

No drinking.
No smoking.
No grinding.

It might sound like a lot but you will only her us talking about it if we see you doing it. As for dancing, no grinding, we get in huge trouble if we get complaints from other guests (parents) for seeing their teens grinding! July 5th, 2006 02:54 PM

On my last royal carribean cruise, there was alot of grinding

joocedcrew July 5th, 2006 07:23 PM

Ohkay. Thanks. What about music.. what kind do they play? can we request songs?

Distaz July 6th, 2006 01:47 AM

How can you even dance without grinding LOL ?

u_oxana July 6th, 2006 11:50 AM

helloo!! I went last year on the fascination and we were kind of free. Like there was a time on the night when the ¨counselor¨ left us and let us put the music we wanted and everything.
pretty cool!

Djcarolina July 6th, 2006 06:46 PM

Dan, wow the first two i understand, but i did some work as guest DJ on the Fantasy and there was no rule against grinding, many teens know nothing other than that. As a matter of fact our director was encouraging it as no one was really dancing the first night. I've been a dj for 6 years and grinding is the teen craze, i cant immagine how that rule could be enforced. Now i do agree that there is an extent to limit that must be upheld but the simple harmless dancing was never not permitted. Our rules were, No Drinking, No Profanity, No Smoking and No Innapropriate gestures which limited the amount of hardcore dancing. I'm not one to disagree, i think however that different ships have different views on this type of dancing, however in my experience on most of the RC and about 9 of the Carnival ships as well as a few othersi have never seen that particular rule enforced unless it was getting way out of hand.

polky July 6th, 2006 10:25 PM

Isn't Dan working a club O2 so wouldn't he know the full rules, maybe being a guest DJ they allowed stuff but shouldn't have. I believe Dan

Djcarolina July 6th, 2006 10:49 PM

Ok hold up, i'm not saying Dan is wrong ok, I'm just saying that different ships have different rules based on the demographic onboard, and prior incedents on that ship. And FYI before i was allowed to work with the director i had to know the rules and regs. for the ship and all i'm saying is that on MY experience, we were allowed to let a little grinding slide.

polky July 6th, 2006 11:11 PM

Well then your little experience as a guest did not cover the rules and regulations to the extent I bet Dan has been advised so your one guest experience must have been a thrill for you

Djcarolina July 7th, 2006 01:16 AM

Look dude, u need to chill out ok, i'm not saying i'm taking his job ok. To work on a ship requires countless hours of training and memorization, none of which i was required to do. You have taken this to w level that it doesnt belong at. My guest work was simply a fun opportunity i had. Cool ur jets.

polky July 7th, 2006 09:02 AM

jsut like you seem feed up with my comments I was getting feed up with your long drawn out advise and criticism, just as I believe Pete was, so briefly share your experiences, like all of us do, your lengthlt "know it all" advice is exhausting, that is if you want to keep "acting" 16 yrs old July 7th, 2006 01:25 PM

Shut up u p.r.i.c.k. its a bloody cruise forum for teenagers, I think you are pete. Djcarolina has helped so many people on this board and although he can be slightly arrogant, eg 2 time prom king he is a very nice guy who knows alot about cruising and is prepared to help other people who no less then him, so shut your mouth and stop having a go at him.

polky July 7th, 2006 01:55 PM

I think you don't know the real djcarolina and your right he does seemed to know alot but also seems to like to sound off like he knows all, why doesn't he just answer like a teen if thats who or what he is, your all fools for believing

The Cruise Guy July 7th, 2006 03:34 PM

Polky, I'v been reading your drival since you changed your name, by the way, what was your old name? Anyway, I think you are confused on the age issue of djcarolina and Pete. Its Pete who says he's 40, not dj. Just check Pete's myspace again and you will see you have the age issue switched around. If this sounds like I'm defending dj's posts, I'm not. He does come across as a know-it-all and sometimes rather pompous but he does put out good info.

polky July 7th, 2006 03:42 PM

Djcarolina is no teenager, my other screen name will remain unknown, but it seems to me that someone, Dan ,has the job of advicing here, this guy needs to lighten as I will too but I am just tired of his rambling almighty posts. ??? where has he been for the past years if he's a teen cruiser I don't see how he wouldn't have been aware of cruisemates if he is such the "Teen Cruiser" Don't let yourself be fooled July 7th, 2006 04:10 PM

all i no is he gives good proper info on this message board, leave it at that

The Cruise Guy July 7th, 2006 04:24 PM

Polky, I find it hard to take advice from ANYONE who's identity is somewhat obscure and will not reveal the source of their information. If you REALLY want to be credible, give us your prior name and your source of information about dj. Not really a question you should sidestep if you want to remain believable.

Djcarolina July 7th, 2006 06:03 PM

No problem guys check it out heck, my pictures are even from some of the ships and a few in the teen club. A friend told me about cruisemates recently and i found it a great opportunity to share my experiences and learn from others. The fact that i'm 16 doesnt keep me from answering in a mature and informative way as you seem to think it should. But sure, if you want to check me out, go on my myspace.

phatty2006 July 7th, 2006 07:42 PM

So Pete Aka Polky I think that you need to lighten' up being Mature Doesn't show how old you are... You could be the most intuitive person on this board doesn't mean you have to be 30+ Its rather delightful to see other People with same educational value as I. So just because he is knowledgeable doesn't mean he is old!

joocedcrew July 7th, 2006 08:01 PM

back to the topic people.. CLUB O2!!! LOL

TracyB730 July 9th, 2006 02:13 AM

yea about club 02...hows the music? do they play new stuff/old stuff/what kind of music..can we make requests? thnxx

Djcarolina July 9th, 2006 02:34 AM

They play a variety of music. Carnival subscribes to Promo Only, a music subscription service that allows music professionals to have access to hot music before it is released to the public. (as far as i know all ships do this, if i am wrong i stand corrected). Most of what the director will play will be hip hop and rap but there will be some popular rock and mabye a few country. I am sure that the DJ will be more than happy to play your requests.

TracyB730 July 9th, 2006 01:47 PM

djcarolina--uve been on glory 3 did u like its Club02?

Djcarolina July 9th, 2006 01:58 PM

Hey there, as for the Glory, when i was on there, the teen club was called Ultraviolets, as many ships have, i imagine now the club is called "Club O2 @ Ultraviolets" Anyhow, i thought that the decor and overall layout of the club was deff. cool but it was a bit roomy considering the amount of people that showed up and the number dancing on the dance floor. Plus it connects with other public areas and sometimes posed a problem but i am sure that with the Club O2 program instated, it will be more private for the teens. Overall I liked the program and faciities on the Glory, its a nice ship and i am sure u will have a great time. If u have any questions feel free to ask.

joocedcrew July 9th, 2006 02:57 PM

hey Djcarolina, what kind of stuff have you heard about the club02 on carnival valor. . . if anything? lol

pete_ July 9th, 2006 04:12 PM

polky isnt me, and my myspace says 40 but that doesnt mean i am, look at the pics im looking good for 40 hahaha

i can see why he was fed up with djcarolina, even though i know carolina is just trying to help which is fair enough and nice of him it does sound like what he says is fact alot of the time, none of the cruises i have been on, and its alot have banned grinding, i can see why it would upset parents and why it may be banned but the fact is I havent seen this, plus clubs on the newer ships are generally out of the parents view so i can see why they would let it slide

DanPolulak July 11th, 2006 01:20 PM

In regards to the Conquest class Club O2's right now they are using Ultraviolets or whatever room is the teen room as Club O2, so djcarolina was correct, its "Club O2 at Ultraviolets." This is scheduled to change once these ships go into dry dock, they will be refitted with the new Club O2 style like on the Spirit and a few of the Fantasy class ships.

Djcarolina July 11th, 2006 08:53 PM

Yeah the Fantasy itsself still has the Spirals sign but the interior is decked out with the red white and silver club O2 logos as well as the dance floow stickers. I must say it looks very good. Coke and Carnival did a cool thing when they partnered with eachother and created O2. Now what we need is actual bars like many of the Voyager RC ships with Fuel/Optics and Conquest class ships. Overall though it looks great. And we leave on the fantasy again day after tomorrow for some business stuff so i'll be happy to see the stff again.
