Yep, had an alpha (fire) alarm on Miracle this summer. Scared the crap out of me, it happened at 3am and it was a different alarm then they used in our drills. My roommate and I walked out to our hallway and all the other crew were out there looking around too. Fire is the scariest thing onboard.
Turned out it was just a glitch in the system, but creeped me out nonetheless.
This reminds me of my cruise to Alaska last summer, in which i was sitting talking with my friend, when we heard alpha alpha, deck 3 aft (repeat) I jumped up and we both started running downstairs where we met my brother and his friends also running down the stairs, we all got to deck 3, where it turned out the alpha alpha was due to the fact that my brothers friend granny was ill. Suddenly it wasn't funny very anymore, we were all expecting some sort of mini fire hence why we were running. His Granny was ok in the end though you'll be happy to no

oh haha,
the only code message i have ever heard was once when they stopped all sound on board the ship (including the teen club music), they said code firestar or something like that, and then everything went back to normal.
Well hopefully that old person loved cruising, so they died some place that they loved, and doing something they loved to do.

the carnival miracle? this summer? when was there a fire? as far as i know, all that happened to it besides being delayed into port(s) by storms at sea was the norwegian spirit hitting its pier after we docked in new york at the end of my cruise.

Ahh, idk, I've only been on one cruise so far ( ) lol, but I was pretty surprised at what happened on the second to last night on my cruise.
It was just a 4 night thanksgiving cruise on X Zenith (which, by the way, isn't a great ship to take your first cruise on, kinda boring), and all of a sudden the ship stops and they ask us to all go on one side of the ship. Then I see a tiny little boat floating and some guy waving his shirt.
Turns out it was like a family of 10(?) trying to escape from Cuba. I felt terrible, though, because they had to be sent back to Cuba due to the wet foot/dry foot policy.

they were lucky it was a smaller ship!
when you said "...and they ask us to all go on one side of the ship. " I was thinking the ship was drowning! lol

hahaha I know! I thought something was wrong with the ship too because when it was stopping i saw all the black smoke come out and stuff, guess that just happens when a ship stops, though?
My worst cruise moment was on my last cruise when our O2 director wouldn't let us play music on the first night! He played 4 songs he wanted to play and said that was all the music for the night no requests and made us all listen to him give a 30 minute speech. It was HORRIBLE! Thank goodness I met people at one o'clock that first day I got on the ship so by night time we were all close friends already and started our own club O2 with ipod speakers in an unused lounge. haha
CRUISES I HAVE TAKEN SO FAR...

Carnival Glory (July 5, 2008)
Carnival Inspiration (March 28, 2009*18th birthday Cruise!!)
My worst cruising moment? I was on the Crown Princess on the trip immediately following the listing incident. So my worst "moment" began when I first found out about the ship (and found out on the same news station that an F2 tornado blew half the roof off my high school, lol, yes, in the NYC region). The "moment" ended when we were back in the car on the BQE finally going home. The entire cruise was horrible, and I'll never go back to Princess ever again. I would have enjoyed myself just as much as a greenhorn on the Wizard from Deadliest Catch, and that's the boat whose captain has a bad temper.
