Some new rules...
 

K people....

im kinda getting sick of when people post posts with only a couple words in them...just like agreeing or repeating what the person above them said. Its really annoying and disappointing to find that instead of something interesting to read. So if you post those...stop! cuz if you continue im just going to delete them.

How about keeping posts on topic?

That would also help to keep the boards neat...but its not something tha can be controlled cuz people get drawn off topic all the time. I do it myself

I second that.. Threads seem to get off topic WAY to much. Almost every thread now is not about the original subject. I find it ac.eptable for maybe one or two posts off topic, but not the entire thread.

I def agree with the off-topicness. But i cant really help it if random conversations start! I dont want to be like mean and strict and be like "NO you can only talk about cruises and the topic!!!" thats not cool.

so Rule #3....try to stay on topic! i know its hard....but from now on we're all gonna try

i kno a lot of you do it and i don't wanna be rude. but its annoying when every nite i have to read about how pepople are on here instead of doing homework. we see it everyday.

but i agree about the off topicness of it. but i mean if we do get off topic which happens A LOT! if someone notices, then we'll just get back ON topic.

If they have an off topic post, they could always make their own thread about whatever they wanted to talk about..

Another problem I am seeing is that people are responding to other peoples roll calls saying they wont be on that cruise. Those posts are just pointless, because they aren't helping out at all.

Yea this board is nuts about getting of topic. I hate reading something i am enjoying and am happy cuz theres 3 more pages, unfortunatly those 3 pages are about " this cute little denim mini that i wore to school today" or something else totally off topic. I do think that we should all be able to talk about whatever we want. So if you have an off topic post just write the title like this "Insert Title Here: OT" (for off topic)! Anyhow good job guys! Okay, so no 1 answered questions, try not to get off topic, don't answer roll calls if you aren't on the ship, and don't talk about doing hw (uh oh that one might not happen). lol :wink:

There's a start, now I just have to not do it anymore.

However if we want all the topics to stay ON TOPIC then every time we want to segway to another topic we are going to have to make a new topic. That's going to be a lot of new topics! lol LOL

Oh well, great ideas! I guess every place needs rules even when you are talking about cruises. :shock:

Okay, So I will TRY to follow the rules HOWEVER....

I agree that we should stay somewhat on topic, but once most of the people have posted an answer I think we should be allowed to post something other than the original topic. The original topic would be over without someone talking about something else besides the original topic. That's how conversations on here start. Without segwaying to other topics we wouldn't get a chance to talk and get to know each other. Another thing, I really don't think it's practical to start a new topic about something that you are able to post on an existing topic. It would be quite messy and confusing if every time we wanted to add a comment that wasn't on topic we had to make a completely different topic instead of just posting it.

I agree about not responding when people post about roll calls. The only thing is that sometimes people ask "Is anyone going to answer?" Then I feel guilty and I don't want to ignore so I end up just saying "I'm not going" so the person at least knows someone is reading their post. We should come up with a better systematic roll call for those who want to find others on their ship.

when people say that.....they can just look at the times viewed thing...its like right next to the number of posts.

Yes, however some people especially new people don't know that. I don't like to keep people hanging. It also starts conversation "What cruise are you going on? Where is is going? How many days? Is this your first cruise?" And Kris I see you post "So where's it going" at least once even though you aren't going on the ship. :D

how about instead of people posting new roll calls on each cruise.. lets just have ONE topic and all you can do on is just say what cruise your going. and that is all. cuz most likely theyre probably isnt going to be someone on your cruise anyway cuz there isnt very many of us if you know what i mean

Exactly! We just need a sticky "Roll Call" post and just leave it at that.

thats exactly how i feel. but im just trying to keep it neater too so when people book a cruise or have a question, they can find it easier.
