i went on RCCL Grandeur in nov/dec 05 and they had the curfew but did not enforce it at all and were really chill about it. i was 16 then and i had the best time ever even tho it was my first cruise so i had nothing to compare it to. maybe things have changed since then though

I was just on navigator nov 25. they don't enforce the curfew at all. me and my friends were out 'till 2 or 3 every night

yeah they didnt enforce it on mine either...and lets just say the teens wenrt well behaved...its midnight now? i thought it was 1...haha i hope it stays at 1!

the curfew...my #1 reason NOT to sail on RCCL!
#2. the ships are waaay to big!!
#3. since theyre so big..the food is probably crap. i would rather sail on X than RCCL...their sister line. (most rather would sail on HAL..but out of X and RCCL...X wins)

actually the food is really good on rccl.
and i think its like the perfect size!

im just mad about the curfew

The curfew wasnt enforced on my cruise either.

What is wrong with a large ship? It offers more ammenties then a smaller ship, what is wrong with that?

There food is really good, even though there ships are large. The passenger to staff ratio still stays the same as a smaller ship, so you will recieve the same quality of food.

yea i guess they changed it to midnight? it was one on mine and they enforced it. but i still was out til 5 or so every night. we just hung out in cabins until like 4ish then it didnt matter if you were out cuz you'd be like the only ones. on the last night we were out and about and they didnt care.

it's just a pain to have to worry about it thats all.

and i hate big ships too. i like smaller ships so it doesnt take forever to walk somewhere and it's way way easier to find people.

i guess my ship must have been one of the smallest RCCL ships because it deff wasnt that big. the food was amazing as well as the staff.

now i think it depends on the ship... cause the crew is diff and more laid back than others sometimes.
i dont know but i dont think the curfew with stop me from sailing with rccl.
on that big of a ship sometimes, i dont think theyll enforce it cause its huge and like how many guards will bother searching every hiding spot. if they see teens loitering in like open places though lol theyll prolly be like k go home.

yeah i love the food on rccl. and i go on smaller rccl ships, not huge ones but even they have good food too. from my friends ive heard.

Well that stinks, my first cruise is April 1st with RCCL to the bahamas from canaveral..hope its not as enforced like most of the posters say here. 8)

And to not go off topic, How did the teen thing suck? Most are focusing on the curfew, which I think I can avoid.its a big ship.

and i still dont want to try RCCL! until im 18.
theres no way RCCL can have better food than X.

Obviously a premium cruise line will have better food then a Major line like RCCL.

The curfew is there for a reason, to keep you safe.

RCCL is a great line IMHO, it has everything that I could possibly want.

Starts at $479.00, that would take me at least three weeks. Not to mention the airfare, food, land excursions, medical, activities, hotels, stores

Wow my parents worked pretty hard and long for this cruise. It really adds up fast.

yeah im soo grateful for my mom!
she works so hard to give us what we want!!

and we go on a big vacation every year!
and its really hard since she's a single parent!

when im older im deff treating her to something nice! lol

yeah cruise vacations add up SOO fast!!!

cruise itself
flights/bus/gas money if you drive
hotels
rental car/taxis
meals before and after the cruise (if you fly and stay in a hotel)
shore excursions
shopping on board and in port
transportation in port
parking your car at the airport/cruise port

omggg thats soo much! and imagine like times 4 people!! gahh!!
but im only asking for my mom to pay for herself and me to pay myself. so thats fair. and doable.

ahh yah its true... thats why people who live near the ports are so lucky.
no cruises depart from montreal.. except for like the canada ones prolly. but i dont even think its from here. its from like quebec city.
i wished i lived in floridddde. or ny/nj.

HAL Maasdam does 7 night cruises from Quebec to Boston. like to Canada/New England.
i wish i lived closer to ports too. im like 3 hrs from the city and boston so its not too bad...but could be better!!! and flying to Florida is such a pain!

Flying is a pain, it takes about an entire day to travel there and back and go through airport security etc etc.

it is. its so annoyin and a hassle if your going on a cruise, especially if anything were to happen to your luggage.

that happened to someone on here. sucks soooo bad!!!
i would die.

flying....is fun. i love planes and being in the air.
but cruising in the winter is difficult in the winter for people who live in the north. the weather is unpredictable and can hinder any travel plans! thank god for travel insurance!
