Default ? for the teens re formal wear

First of all, sorry to invade your teen board, but I asked this on the adult board, and figured I'd come to the experts to get the real deal:

We're sailing on Carnival in March. My son (17) was wondering about the formal nights. I told him I would ask you:

1. Do any of the young men this age wear tuxes or do they wear suits or just dress pants/ties?

2. Do the teens change back into their regular clothing after dinner or stay in their formal wear?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help.

Kim

Hey (well I'm a girl so it's just my opinion)

I'd say not do the tux, although they do look really sharp, but a suit usually looks good too... I'd say yes for a suit on Formal Nights, and then on the non formals, I'd say just nice pants, nice shirt etc... But a Suit is fine then too.

As for changing, when I went on my last they didn't have the Teen Clubs, but I'd say it'd be a bit of both... I'm going to change probably because my dresses aren't exactly the most comfortable for chilling... Now if he's in the nice pants/nice shirts, he may not need to change and he should be fine as long as he's not uncomfortable!!!

Hope I helped!

well it depends, some of the guys i met wore a tux/suit, and others just worse dress pants and a button up shirt and a tie..so it depends.

and after dinner, if there was a show in the theatre me and my friends would all go straight there and not change..but after the show we all went to our rooms changed into more comfortable clothes and then met up again

I would go for the suit, thats the standard dress I have seen for teens on my cruises.

If you have early seating dinner, your show will be after dinner. If I have early seating, I usually stay in my formal clothes for the show, then afterwards I change and head to the disco or any other activites I want to take part in.

Thanks everyone for their comments. A suit it shall be, and he can ditch the jacket after dinner (and a picture of course!!). Can't miss that opportunity, now can I?

I wish you all wonderful cruises. I can't wait for ours - 57 sleeps, but hey who's counting?

Thanks again for your help.
