Default Teen Royal Caribbean

Hi eveyone,

I am cruising soon on the Mariner. I really would like to meet people, but want to know the best way to go about it. Should I just look for people walking on the first day/night, or should I try to go to the teen club? Some people say the teen club is corny, but should I try going? Thanks!

-John

Hey dude! Welcome to Cruisemates! Take it from a Mariner of the Seas legend (i'm not joking), the teen club is what you make it. I highly sugguest that you go during the activities on the first evening. The Quest is a cool way to meet other teens and make friendships that will prove to be vaulable throughout the cruise. I've had 1 cruise where the teen club was kinda lame but we fixed it the last 4 nights. Otherwise its been hot every night till late! They have cool themed nights sometimes like Prom night on night 6 on the St. Thomas run and night 5 on the Grand Cayman run. Its a load of fun. Check out my April review on the ship here:

if u have any specific ?s feel free to IM me or PM me.

Hello!

Welcome to Cruisemates. I just wanted to stress-- GO TO THE TEEN CLUB ON THE FIRST NIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT! Because from there, you meet people who you will end up chilling with most likely around the ship, and not in the club. On the first night, everyone is new and looking to be social. If you wait around, people might have already formed their 'cliques'!

Go to the teen club on the first night for sure!!!!!! Thats where mostly everyone goes to meet people! and if its lame..you dont have to stick around or anything. but it def is the basis of meeting people on a cruise!! go!

ya dude deff go to the teen club. im gonna warn you though on some cruises the first night dosent suck, but its moore of a meet and greet session than a party, dont let that discourage you and dont be like man this sucks, cause i garuntee the next night will be a whole lot better , you may know this but if you dont, ull find out what im sayin when you get into the club, dont be one of those gies that just stands around the dance follr staring at the ground alll of the week, dance and get iild and stuff cause ur most likely never gonna see these people ever again in ur life, but mariner is an awsome ship so enjoy ur cruise

I'm the same way, kinda. Usually I am shy when meeting new people, but after a half hour of having a shut mouth-- I start to talk and become extremely social!

Or you could take my approach. Walk up to a girl/guy u think is cool that u might like to chill with and introduct urself and strike up a convo. Believe it or not, one person can be the difference between an AWESOME first night and a crappy one. If u kinda lead the pack and get a party going, it can be an awesome opener to the cruise. Just grab a girl and get out there and start dancing!

the first night kinda sucked in the teen club on the last 2 cruises.
last summer, there were only 4 people there including me, no one i got along with, or was interested in to get to know. so i just left and found people on my own and then ended up having the best cruise of my life!!

on my last cruise, they didnt really have anything planned for us. all we did was just go in there and talk. and then they kicked us out? i met most of my friends that night.. but it was still kinda lame. it got better as the cruise went on though.

definitely go to the teen club though, makes things easier.
if you dont like it, just leave and meet people else where.

the first day, like right before main dinner is usually when people show up at the teen club, so you might want to try walking first then chilling at the teen club then

this had never happened with me. ive missed the first night on a lot of cruises and by the next few days, either people dont want more friends or they dont go to the teen club anymore so you cant find them

I completely agree. I mean if your the kind of person who is a bit shy and needs that icebreaking time to get to know people, then yes it will be dificult to meet people the 2nd or 3rd night after they've created their little cliques. Honestly though, i've had several cruises when i've walked into the teen club for the first time on the 2nd night and just kicked off my cruise perfectly. If your confident and are looking to have a good time, its a sinch. Of course i have a tendancy to steal the show, but what can i say . Just because people have formed groups, means nothing. If i'm late, I just grab a couple of my favorite tactics and draw people into my own group.l

I no what you are saying about cliques bit gay isnt it? But yer, the first night is cringeworthy especially with the first time cruises, and its not worth the effort

I'm always a clique leader, and i always open it up to whoever. I pride myself in that, when u look at group pics of my groups, theres always a ME, a jock, a nerd, a hot girl, a shy girl and guy, an emo kid, a mexican, an asian and a black dude. (just joking sterotype guys). But yea I try to make sure everyone has a good time. I already know i'm gonna.

lol, coment and question to add.

The past cruises ive been on people were in their little groups before they even went to the teen clubs, not much fun...

and the question is what do you do when your cruise is only like 3 days long? The next one im going on in December is a little daunting for me, lol

when your on a 3 night cruise, there is no time for being shy. I typically do several shorter cruises per year rather than 1-2 longer ones and hinestly, i prefer it that way. First of all, make sure you go to the meeting on the first night. What ship are you going on? Carnival has an excellent meet and greet program called the Club O2 Roll Out. RCCL has an icebreakers meeting as well. Carnivals is always at 9:00pm no matter what ship you go on so thats a word to heed. Also when youre there, dont be the shy kid that never says anything. Even though its intimidating, you have to be open and introduce yourself to other people. Remember, they expect that and if it doesn't go as smooth as planned, you're only gonna know them for 3 days and never see them again which can be good or bad. I always have success with this and you will too. Also dont wait and think through everything so thoroughly, be spontaneous and have an open schedule. Most 3 night cruises pack everything a 7 night has into just those few days. If you keep an optomistic mindset, you'll be fine and have a great time. any other questions, feel free to PM me.
