It usually doesn't take very long but for some reason it's taking forever this time cause I think that the ship was extra rocky

No. If anything I've always gotten in early.

Do you stay near the port a day before/after the cruise, or do you do all your traveling on the same day ?

Considering except for one cruise we've always sailed out of the NYC area (either Manhattan, Brooklyn, or New Jersey), and we live in NYC, we travel to the ship the same day. Our one cruise out of Baltimore we drove down the morning of the cruise, and the ship was late leaving port because a storm made it late arriving from its previous cruise, so we had even more time to get there.

We always fly down the day before and we usually fly back the day the ship gets back

Depends on the port. If it's South Florida, the family has a house in Boca Raton (30 mins north from FLL and maybe 1 hour from MIA) so no need for hotel, but we are usually there at least the night before, if its any other port, hotel the night before.

In Brazil it's very different, our school year starts in the last week of January or February, in July we take the Winter Break in December and January we take the summer break. But we have a lot of holidays, Carnival it's the better one.

so, I can say that we don't have the Spring Break, but in last year of school we got a free week, known as "Semana do Saco Cheio" or in english "Week of Sick" (Google Translator)

College feels like a cruise. Meet new people on a daily basis, party, you learn new things, you have fun. Complete independence. I can't really pick favorites.

Ours are in a week. they are the last finals I have to take in high school!

We call them finals because there are a lot of classes that are only 1 semester and we only test on the stuff from that semester.
