my problem

ok so...we're going on liberty ots this febuary break and i'm excited cause i think theres gonna be a ton of teens on board(cause its a break season). but the thing thats annoying is that ill still be 14 in feb. so ill have to go in the 12-14 club. which really sucks cause i'll be on the older side and i always feel stupid like that. cause a lot of the 12 year olds i know act really stupid and young and stuff.
but i act immature myself so hopefully it works out.

POSSIBLY! If 15-17 teen director is nice.. you could explain to him/her your situation. Of course, with RCI I've heard it's harder to sneak in to the clubs than on Carnival... because they swipe your card(I think). Which is really lame if you ask me. I was going to bring a friend with me but she wasn't going to be 15 by the time of my sailing which would have made it so that she couldn't go to the club with me.

RCI, to my knowledge doesn't swipe cards, although I could be wrong (last RCI cruise for me was in '06). However, if you have a word with the teen director, chances are they'll let you in. The director on my last cruise was nice enough to be allowing 13 yr olds in...In any case, worse comes to worse, they'll ask to have a word with your folks and all will be settled. Hope this helps.

yah so ur gonna either have to see if the director is strict with that sorta thing.. or like ask the director if u can join in. try and make friends with older teens.. and then you can go up with them and ask the director[im guessnig a better chance of getting in]

Royal Caribbean has really kicked up their teen program and its security. While sailing this weekend, i got to experience some of their new additions, including a much tighter security. They scan your seapass on the first night and they now have stickers with G or N printed on them (Like the Club O2 Stickers on CCL). G or Guest is for 15-17 and N or Navigator is for 12-14 and without a sticker, access to Fuel is denied. This is now employed fleetwide according to the teen director. They also have added Dusk and Warehouse, 2 cool new themed nights onboard the ships with lavis decorations, giveaways and stuff in the club. I'll be writing more on that later. As far as i've seen in my RCI history, all it takes is honesty and a word with the teen director and 14 year olds can get Guest status.

i forgot about the G and the N... but on the explorer in June, they were just writing it on our seapass cards with marker so all the younger and older kids who wanted to be part of the 15-17 (g) program just forged it with a marker. it was actually my idea... just go to the pursers desk and say that you are doing a scavenger hunt thats part of the kids program. tell them you need a permanent maker and they will loan one to you! haha it was so funny

My cruise went a little further than markers and hole-punched the actual card, interesting to know that RCCL is making their clubs a lot more exclusive.

A way to get around this??

When I was 14 and trying to get into Club 02..
one of my friends gave me his club 02 sticker, and put it on my card. Then he just told the director he had lost his card so he needed a new sticker. It was that easy hah

Yes another cruise. Its been in my ticker for months. RCI also puts the shadows on their cards and soon the 12-14s have their own shadow and the 15-17s will have a different one. Unlike the CO2 stickers, these are paper, same as the coke stickers and as u know, no matter how careful you are, u cant transfer those. The hole punches worked well for a while but i got smart enough to just take the 2 kinds of punches they use with me and i could punch mine or anyone elses card. Sneaky yes, but i was a smart 12-14 y.o. But RCI is deffinetly making Fuel more exclusive and the theme nights are way cool. I can't wait to see them on a bigger, nicer ship. They've also created Street Team, a program where 2-6 teens are selected as leaders for the cruise, they get a special t-shirt and get to choose the VIPs and hand out fliers all over the ship and stuff. I was on street team on the sovereign and i'll post pics of the t-shirts and stuff soon with my other reviews.

0-17 gets two holes punched in their card
18-20 gets one hole punched in their card
21+ gets no hole punched in card

ick but thats the problem. i'm not really all that mature. i can when i want to be but that me being kinda of fake-o and stuff. but i'm more mature than 12 year olds. its really hard cause i fall kinda exactly in the middle of the two groups. oh well. ill just see what happens.

i dont think it'll matter if you can get in or not. whenever i was that age, i hung out with older people and as i got older, i hung out with younger people.

12 and 13 year olds usually stay with each other it seems. but 14 year olds usually hang out with the older crowd cuz there already in high school usually.

this really isnt a big deal.
the cruise lines make ages groups for a reason. 12-14 year olds have a different mentality than 15-17 year olds. and the boys and girls in each group have a different maturity level.
so theyre just trying to make it like the same ages as people in your school. (middle school and high school are way different so yeah. and they dont really take into consideration peoples birthdays)

and you dont even make friends on cruises so i dont see why your complaining =P
