RCCL curfew/drinking age

just got back from the jewel of the seas...since when is there a curfew? ive been on 5 other RCCL ships and never had a curfew. it was stupid because the 16-17 yr olds would be hanging outside fuel (because the dj was awful and never played music to dance to) and everynight these rent-a-cops would come and threaten to take our seapasses away if we didnt go back to our rooms.
and when was the ability to drink beer at 18 taken away?

I've never heard anything about a curfew before however that much is at the cruise line's discretion. However, the drinking age on Royal Caribbean is 21 and that includes beer. Not sure where you got 18 from but as far as I know it has been and still is 21 for Carnival, RCI, Norwegian etc. on all American sailings. The European trips sometimes are subject to slightly different policies, and if the drinking age is below 21 they usually require a parental permission form to be signed.

(If you're going to drink underage, just drink in the cabin after picking up some Tequilla in Cozumel)

Update: Royal now has a Guest Vacation Policy (I think that is what it's called) which changed its policies on beer/wine and now enforces a 1:00am curfew for minors. Sorry that they enforced that for ya

i hate that! we pay as much for our cruise as geusts over 18 do! thats just idiotic how they do that. they say teens wont "behave". B**L S**T. most of the time its just of perverted 40 year old men trying to find som S**T to well, tou know. i hate that they do that!! i still will take CCL over RCL anyday. ive never had a bad cruise with CCL. but RCL, i went on "freedom of the seas" wich sucked thanks to the rentacops. I hate that. we paid as much (if not more) than everybodyelse on that ship!

theres so many ovem, The "security", the "deck patrol", dude like i said we pay as much as anyone else to go. ill do what i want on my vacation. and if i want to stay up late and go get a slice of pizza, ill do it!

Yeah I agree it does suck but unfortunately they're just trying to satisfy the majority. And the truth is that most of them are our parents lol and they just want some time without teens around. What they don't realize is that we're the cruisers of the future! lol oh well.

well, I have come to learn that its not the majority, but rather the minority that holds the power, and this seems to be true; a lot of people don't bother observing the curfew...

Last cruise that I was on (Enchantment of the Seas) they asked me and a few friends how old we were and we said 16 which we were...it was 2 am and they escorted us back to our rooms. It was lame

well first, yes i'm back! secondly, i'm surprised u had such trouble on freedom... liberty of the seas didnt have any problems when i went last summer... barely saw any security

on the sovereign me and some friends were hanging out at like 230am we were doing anything wrong and there was security not far from us. they actually came over talked to us asked us if we were having a good time we said yes. and then the security went about their business. so i guess it just depends on the ship and how the teens acted on the cruise before yours.

theres a couple of factors when it comes to the curfew...

1. how lax the head of security is on the different ships
2. how the teens acted on the previous cruise(s)
3. how many teens are actually on the ship

but its not just security n deck patrol u gotta watch out for old ppl trying 2 sleep @ 8 n theyll call security n thell call the rents (happened2 me on explorer & freedom ots)

Its actually under 17 (not including 17 year olds)
