Default whats it like on the "upscale" lines

As i already posted my family+extended family will be going on another cruise over xmas. The royal caribbean iteneraries were nothing special, and we saw some good ones on princess and celebrity. For us teens, what are the nicer cruise lines like? i think from a food, amentities pov it will be great, but are there any other teens? do they still like to party?

Well, you'll come to find that theyre not that much different. Princess is owned by Carnival and Celebrity is owned by Royal Caribbean, so lots of the traditions found on the parent line will be mirrored on their other ships tho sometimes slightly altered. Typically, there are opportunities very similar on the more upscale lines as those on the other lines like RCI/CCL etc.

Yeah, i'm with Joe. Celebrity has some nicer ships and theyre newer but theyre probably in the same class as RCI and Princess. Cunard and Costa are upscale lines, as is Radisson 7 Seas, Windstar and Seabourn.

i wouldnt consider costa an upscale line either... definitely in the same category as carnival. if costa was upscale, then they wouldnt be selling cruises at the very low prices they sell them at.

Costa offers a completely different style cruise than Carnival. Just because their ships are the same, the type of people and service onboard is COMPLETLY different than that of Carnival. We got to tour the Mediterranea last year and its an absolutely gorgeous ship, NOTHING like a carnival cruise. Carnival in general can offer lower rates than any other cruise line, not because they have crappy ships, but because they own more ships than any other line. Keep in mind that Worlds Leading Cruise Lines owns: Carnival, Princess, Cunard, Yachts of Seabourn, Costa, and Holland America Line.

i never said it was carnival that offered lower fares... and i never said anything about crappy ships. i am just saying, if Costa was upscale, you wouldnt see week long caribbean cruises going for such cheap prices.

Alright boys. Neither of you have even been on a Costa cruise...(tours dont count). I have =] and Joe is right. Costa is just like CCL...but Italian and more fun. Its not "upscale" at all...HAL and X are def more upscale. The service is the same on any regular cruise line...and so is the food..to a point. Theres a lot more italian food which is delectable. Oh and they have the same exact green, blue, and yellow cups in the buffet as CCL (and in my cabinet).

oh and the reason Costa caribbean cruises are so cheap is because they want to attract the Europeans...who have to pay a lot more for airfare.
