Default planning my cruise and about to book!!!

okay so originally i was going to go one the carnival imagination on the eastern inteniary for 5 nights but now my dad really wants to go to puerto rico, so i'm all for that because only longer carnival cruises go to puerto rico!!! so basically i've talked them into going on either the liberty out of miami or the miracle out of new york... which one do you think is a better ship/inteniary and which one will have more young people??? i'm bringing two of my best friends and my sister so we are looking to basically have the craziest and funnest week of our lives lol.

heres the info:

carnival miracle out of new york for 8 nights starting at $849 (according to the carnival website)
june 2nd: new york, ny
june 3rd: day at sea
june 4th: day at sea
june 5th: san juan, puerto rico 3pm to 12am
june 6th: st thomas 7am to 6pm
june 7th: tortola 7am to 2pm
june 8th: day at sea
june 9th: day at sea
june 10th: new york, ny

OR

carnival liberty out of miami for 7 nights starting at $729
may 31st: miami
june 1st: half moon cay 9am to 4pm
june 2nd: day at sea
june 3rd: st thomas 8am to 6pm
june 4th: san juan, puerto rico 7am to 3:30pm
june 5th: grand turk 11am to 5:30pm
june 6th: day at sea
june 7th: miami

ahh i don't know which one to pick! we are calling carnival tomorrow morning to see which one is a better deal for what you get... i mean you get either 7 nights and 4 ports or 8 nights and 3 ports. airfare is cheaper for us to new york so thats good, but we also really like miami and the liberty is a new ship. but we've been on the miracle before and we loved it! which one do you think will have more younger people on it??? HELP!

Thats so good Jess!!! I got my mom to book a cruise this week to!!

But that is such a hard choice to make! I don't even know. Um I love sailing out of New York and its a longer cruise...but then I love going on new ships and plus liberty is bigger...so for me I would say Carnival Liberty! But knowing you no matter what ship your on it will be a huge crazy party! And they both should have a good amount of younger people.

Jess what dates are you looking at?

Personally, I would go with the Liberty; not because bigger is better (in fact, if you like higher end service, smaller is better), but because you are more likely to have a more fun crowd out of miami than you are out of new york. In terms of value, they are pretty much the same considering that the difference on a per person basis is 120 dollars for one additional day. Also, if you like exploring ports, you may want to give a little higher consideration to the Liberty as it hits one more port than the Miracle; if you like relaxing onboard more than you like to explore ports, go for the Miracle.
From past experience I can tell you that Liberty is a great ship; best cruise of my life. The cruise afterall, isn't about the itinerary or the ship, its about the people.

I definitely agree that sailing out of Miami will give a more "party" atmosphere to a cruise! Plus Liberty has the new pool theater thing which looks like that is the spot for teens

Actually, to the contrary, we didn't hang out by the pool much on my cruise (I got off a week ago), except maybe to catch some sun or watch the NCAA tourney. The pool theater is good for watching while in the hot tubs, or while catching some sun though.

Same hardly any teens watched the theater or w/e.
I watched it once with this guy for like 5 mins then we were like this is lame lets just go walk around and find the rest of our group haha

I'm going to be on the same exact trip on the Miracle out of New York, but from May 17-25. I would suggest go on whichever cruise it would be easier to get to, between getting to Miami or New York. I know it's much easier for me to get to the Miracle than the Liberty this summer because I live in NYC, so that's why I'm taking the Miracle.

I am a student, just attending a local school in NYC, but I was born and raised in NYC.

MY CRUISE IS OFFICIALLY BOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
its me, my sister, and two of my best friends on the carnival miracle june 2nd! the only thing im kinda sad about is that i don't have a balcony room this time! ahh i've never cruised without one and last summer i had suite for just me and my sister on the legend, and we had tons of suite parties because my parents room was like 2 decks below lol. it was sooooo amazing. but anyway, we were trying to keep the cost down for my friends so we have two insides on the verandah deck... 7110 and 7114... do you guys think the insides are that bad??? i don't think it will really matter, but i'll miss my balcony! i'm just gonna be out on my parents all the time lol... maybe they'll be nice and upgrade us. AHHH IM SO EXCITED!

Insides will be a bit more cramped than the balconies you are used to, so don't expect to spend a ton of time in your room if you have an inside room. They aren't horrible, but they aren't amazing either in my opinion.

I actually prefer inside cabins. Im hardly ever in my room...so why waste money that can be used on drinks?? exactly.
just go up on deck if you want a balcony!

that is true, i'm really not in my room that much, only to get ready and sleep and maybe occasionally bring people back to chill... but it was always fun to go out on the balcony esp. with a hot cruise boy lol. oh well... i really don't think i'll mind that much, it just might be kinda weird at first. last summer was sooo amazing having a suite! i suggest that everyone try it sometime! on my valor cruise my sister and i met two guys who were sharing an inside cabin and they said when they booked their cruise their travel agent was like "i have a special room for you" and they got booked in a handicapped inside room so it was EXTRA big. the bathroom was HUGE. like enough room to fit 2 wheel chairs in the shower! lets just say we had a lot of room parties in that cabin. oh and if anyone wants to book its number 8342! on the deck plans it doesnt look bigger, but i swear it is.
