The Crypt

Hey everyone, I just got back from my cruise on Freedom of the Seas! It was a lot of fun but now i am very sad its over :(. For those people who gave me advice about how to get into the club, thank you :D. I was able to get in and it was fun at first, but i was disappointed in the club itself. First off, the DJ wasn't very good at all; he didn't even know how to properly mix music. Once we got into the club, there were a lot of older people and not too many people our own age. I still had fun though. There was a Twenty Something party and a pool deck party which was awesome; luckily there was a different DJ :D.

Thank you again, MarieMarie

Its not the DJs fault. Freedom has been having a lot of issues with their Serato Software which is the software that connects to the DJs turntables and allows him to mix. If it were left to my guess, i'd say they were trying to limp along using iTunes like the other ships are until things are running again. The DJ they had at the Deck Party was the onboard Scratch Academy DJ who on ships that have them, are very good at what they do. Did you check out Fuel at all?

Oh okay I understand now. Although, even his music selection was poor :(. Oh well. But ya, they had a DJ who did the Deck Party and the Twenty Something Party; he was awesome. I've never heard a DJ that good before, I mean, the way he mixed the songs and everything! He was just really good. And no, I didn't check out the teen thing just because I already had a lot of friends there; but i still met people. There was a teen thing in the Crypt on one of the nights, but i didn't go to that either for i didn't want the security to see me walk into that and them know I was underage for the club.

what is a twenty something party??? ive never heard of that.

MarieMarie April 14th, 2008 07:10 PM

It was a big party in the Solarium for people over 21, but 18 year olds were able to get in. It had glow cups and LOTS of people.

ohhh fun! i think cruises need to have a group or something for kids in college because they kinda forget about us and focus on younger teens who are under 17!

MarieMarie April 14th, 2008 07:21 PM

I agree with you even though I'm not in college. But, there is always the clubs and the casino that ya'll are allowed in :).

Its the single mix and mingle. Its like a grown up version of Dusk and I'm dissapointed that more ships don't do it. I love sneaking in cuz its KICK ARSE!

Enchantment 04 April 15th, 2008 12:10 AM

yeah it sucks for us that are in college and between the ages of 18-20..... c'mon cruise lines DO SOMETHING!!!!!!

Djcarolina April 15th, 2008 12:32 AM

Carnival does a lot for their 18-20 crowd because they make up a large majority of the repeat cruises when theyre old enough to cruise w/o their families. You picked a really nice ship to check out this summer and I think you'll have a really good time. And if it sucks, you have 7 nights on a kickass ship to follow!

theres always been a ton of college age kids on my past cruises, probably just as many as the amount of "teens" who are under 18. even though they can go in the adult nightclub and the casino and basically do all the adult stuff, i think there should be some kind of meeting thing for college kids and you should have to prove that you are like between the ages of 18 and twenty something or show your college ID to get in that way everyone can meet each other!
