Hey guys, I've been getting lots of stuff lately from the lines we sail and I thought i'd throw some of it up here for those people who werent aware of the changes occuring in the ships/lines in and around Canaveral over the next couple months.
Though i'm sure its been out a little while, we just got confirmation that Carnival's largest ever FunShip will be home ported in Canaveral!
Royal Caribbean's Genesis Class ships will both be home ported in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Monarch of the Seas will replace Sovereign of the Seas on November 10, 2008. The Sovereign's last sailing ever under the RCI flag will be on October 31, 2008, after which her remaining 2 cruises scheduled will be cancelled as she requires more time in refurb to prepare her for her introduction to the Pullmantur fleet.
Carnival Fascination will replace the now-defunct M/S Fascination's itinerary in JaxPort, which is recieving its own major cleanup in awaiting the arrival of their first ship larger than a tugboat
Mariner of the Seas will be leaving Port Canaveral in March of 2009 and will be re-deployed to the West Coast...taking its place will be the Freedom of the Seas! Beginning in May 2009, Freedom of the Seas will sail on the Mariner's 7 night itineraries with some possible modifications to the ports based on the Freedom's port requirements.
Disney will also be homeporting their 2 new ships in Canaveral in 2011 and 2012, calling for 4 Disney Ships in 1 location.
