Default Cruise for a senior trip?

I was discussing with my friend how the two grades above us are going on cruises for their senior trips. I then thought that would be a good idea... then I thought about it again and decided I prob. wouldnt like a cruise for a senior trip because I act differently on cruises. It's not like I'm a completly different person but If I went on a cruise with my class cliques would be already made from the get go, anyone else agree?

I personally, wouldn't want to (nor do I plan on) do a senior cruise. First of all, i'm really not looking forward to turning 18. I know there will be different opportunities on the ship when I'm 18, but the idea of the "teen club" will be gone and things will become a LOT more difficult (hookups).

I also know how things go down at my school and I wouldn't want to have to deal with it on a ship.

Finally, i also see things from the other side. I've been on quite a few cruises where there were either senior trips or school groups onboard. In a way its great because they hang in packs and fill the teen club. Unfortunately it becomes much harder to break into these groups and become friends with them because they're already onboard with friends, why make new ones?

Just my $.02

I agree with everyone. I think I would rather go to the beach for a senior trip because it's a way different atmosphere than a cruise

my bestfriend just got off a cruise on the glory and it was her senior trip. she absolutely loved it but all of them were already 18. i am planning on doing some type of cruise before i go to college and my bestfriend is planning on coming with me so thats half of my senior class thats going... there is only 4 in my class including myself so it will be ok. it just depends on how many ppl go and their ages

Oh true like two of my best friends have their birthdays in Aug. they wouldnt even be able to get into the real club. I hate when I see pictures of the seniors at my school who have gone on cruises.. they stick with themselves and their family. I'm like there is so much more to cruising then just staying with your family!! I ALWAYS encourage my friends to go and meet new people when they're on cruises and so far all of them have LOVED them!

i dont think schools have an "official" senior trip. way to much liability with drinking, hookups, and general teen behavior.

i think the OP was tlking about a group of friends who go on a trip their senior year. my sister did hers on a cruise and she really enjoyed it. sure they didnt meet new people but her about 15 really good friends and all of the families had a great time with eachother. (except for me i went of on my own and had a great time) this was also when you used to be able to drink when you were 18. my parents and other parents liked it because they were around to somewhat monitor what was going on so nobody went crazy as opposed to the ppl who go to all inclusives in mexico and drink theirselves into a coma.

i think its also what you want on your senior trip. my sister has some great memories with her best friends at carlos and charlies, the beach, etc. but also my sister isnt into meeting new ppl on cruises like i am. so to her this cruise was perfect

Its basically half our senior class that goes, or the ones who can afford it.

well, i know this is a little different because its a "senior trip" but, we do a cruise for our choir/band trips every year and it works out better than any other trips.

from what i understand though, with the fact that we have a competition on the ship and such, its a bunch of high schools and there are teen activities but they are under the direction of the school as well. or something like that.

but the seniors love it, so i think it would work out well.
