Depends on whether you like a port or sea day heavy itinerary. If you like ports then pick the first one, if you like sea days pick the second. However, also consider which departure port is easier to get to as well as the fact that the first itinerary is a day longer.

As mike said, its really up to your preference. Both ships are comparable, being identical for all mentionable purposes. The first itinerary offers more sea days, which for a first time cruiser, can be a Godsend. It gives you an opportunity to enjoy both the ship as well as your fellow passengers. Its also a day longer, and thus probably a bit more expensive. The 2nd itinerary offers the "big" mexican ports, whereas the first itinerary offers some more out of the way ports. Similar to itineraries featuring cozumel (being a popular port for West Carib. itineraries here) versus ones offering places like Playa Del Carmen (close to cozumel but a completely different experience). Departure ports can play a role, but in the end its not about the port, its about the cruise itsself. Whichever is more satisfactory to the experience that you expect to recieve.
I'd pick the first one, there are alot of sea days and alot of ports. (:
Sounds like a fun cruise and its 8 days?!!!
I should book that now (:

People beat me to telling you about them.....but i would say go with the first one, if price isnt an issue. You know how a 7 day cruise always seems too short?? Wouldnt an 8 day one solve that problem?

Katie, you only say that because you havent been on a mad long cruise!! If you have, you would know theres not as much fun as the 7-day ones. Like on 10-day cruise attracts older people so they have more time to relax, and not very many teens at all!!

Yea 8 days for some reason just SOUDS like a long time comparedto a week. But yea i would probably go with the 8 day one, but you do have a lot of other things to consider like the first few people said.
i'd also have to pick the first one. the extra day can do a lot for you. also, the ports seem cool and exotic...i've never been to them though so tell me if i'm wrong guys....

8 days are good (my best one yet; SB '08), but once you start heading higher, as Kris pointed out, you tend to get an older crowd who can afford to spend that many days on a cruise at a time.

Def go with the 8 day. I went on that same cruise last xmas/new years and it was my best cruise yet. That extra day does rele help because thats one more day than a 7 day cruise, plus the ports are also amazing. All i know is if ur in high school and you like to party and drink, Acapulco is the place to be. On the 8 day cruise you r in acapulco till one in the morning, which means for all u party people clubs, cheap drinks and a whole lot of fun. Also in acapulco they have the cliff driving show wheich is some wut cool, but its something to do. So yea i would go with the 8 day cruise over the 7 day cruise.
