hii im natalie and im new to this website!
i just got back from my second cruise this weekend and i am soo devastated--i like don't know what to do. i really truely fell in love and i dont know what to do! he lives like 1000 miles away and i know i wont ever be able to see him again.

i really dont know how i will ever be able to get over him. just wondering if this has happened to any of you guys and how you got over it.
aahh im soooo sad right now. i feel like i wont ever be able to love anyone else because he was soo perfect.

Not to seem like a downer here, but do you think maybe it was just the moment it happened like being on a cruise, with a cute boy, who said all the right things? I mean if you are really in love thats so good... but I would see how things work out on land .

hi, welcome to cruisemates! i'm rebecca.
this hasn't happened to me. i go into the cruise looking to have fun for a week, and at the most get great friendships out of it.

if you honestly think it's "love"..
does he feel the same way? there's always the possibility of a long distance relationship, if you guys want to try that. who knows, maybe you'll meet up with him again on future cruises. and if things don't work out romanticly, at least you have an awesome new friend, and i'm sure other guys will come around in your hometown.
good luck! :]

Im sorry about your hookup but you need to know the facts. Get over it, your love affair was doomed the moment you got off the ship.

By the way, how old are you?

I understand how you're feeling, i still think back to the guys I liked on cruises and compare them to the guys at home. I've met 3 "perfect" guys on cruises, so I've learned its just the atmosphere that makes me feel that way. Go on another cruise, and then tell me you dont meet someone just as perfect. Then you'll know it prob. wasnt love.

haha thats how i felt on my last cruise,
and I didnt meet the guy i "Really liked" until like day 3.. so I knew him for 4 days. On the last day we were like "i wish i had met you on the first day" thats what we said to one another.. but we were just glad we met each other at all.

So, just be glad you met someone that amazing. It's sad cause he said he'd keep in touch, but he doesnt, even though I try. It sucks but I'm over it and ready for my NEXT CRUISE!

First, welcome to cruisemates, i'm Michael.

Okay, here's why not to fall "in love" on cruises unless the both of you know that its over the second you step off of the boat again.

1. You'll never last in a relationship with a person you've only known for a week; relationships take time to build.

2. Do you really know that the guy was genuinely in love with you? Guys tend to look for "one week stands" on cruises.

3. Long distance is tough to maintain, even if you've known the person for months or years. It takes *gulp* commitment *gulp*

However, if you choose the long distance route, you should know that you'll rarely get to see each other (Maybe 1 visit a month max if you're a 1000 miles apart), and that you will need to trust each other a lot, and I mean a lot. If you can be completely open with a person you know for a week, go for it. However, looking beyond all those details, it is extremely worth it. You have a partner who, if they are willing to hang on to the relationship, will value you more whenever you see them because of the fact that you rarely get to see them. You also get to visit a different place whenever you go see them, and vice versa for them.

Just some food for thought. Hope it helps.

I really don't think you're in love. The past four cruises I've been on I've met the perfect guy on each one. Especially the last cruise I went on, he was perfect! But he lives near Boston...but has family in New Jersey so he's here on break this week. We are meeting up tomorrow..but having a relationship with him was way to difficult so we are just really good friends now :]

I meet the perfect girls on cruises also. I wish I could find those perfect girls on dry land. Most of the girls I know around here either pretend to be ghetto, or are spoiled brats who don't know what it means when someone tells them "no".

It's alright to miss him, sweetheart ={
But keep in mind that that's part of what makes cruising so fun! You get to meet people you would have never met before and spend a week with them. I think we all go into it looking for a good time.

Just be glad that you had that time, and talk to him every now and then or ask him what his favorite cruise memories are.

You'll meet someone new, and who knows? Love does take time: Maybe you and him might work out in the future if you're still into each other

Royal Caribbean looks amazing, my parents are considering booking Freedom of the Seas for 6/14/08.

Since you've cruised with RCl before, would you mind telling me a bit about their teen facilities, like The Back Deck?

Thanks =}

Honestly when I cruise I don't do many of the teen activities. I tend to make my own friends and chill with them on the decks or in peoples rooms or stuff so I am not much help ! Sorry !

It's fine, that's actually better than what I was hoping for. I'm not really into structure either, but I still wanted to meet people.

Thank you!

Have you ever met anyone on here while on a cruise? And like actually clicked and hung out?

Oh goodness yes I know! It's the sea air. And being in close quarters on a cruise {of all places}, even the annoying or "not so attractive" features seem endearing.
