How many days of dressing up for dinner does my cruise have?

its a 7 night Carnival cruise on the Glory. Two "fun days at sea".

i have no idea how to find out which is why im asking on here. please help!

firsttimecruiser44 February 25th, 2009 11:30 PM

im pretty sure that most 7 nights have 2 formal nights

can someone confirm this?

Djcarolina February 25th, 2009 11:48 PM

Yes, 2 Usually the first is a "Gown and Tux" formal and the 2nd is a resort formal or "jacket and slacks" formal night.

On carnival...anything goes

Peter2852 February 26th, 2009 01:17 AM

I agree with Ryan, there will probably be 2 on that cruise, but with you wont have to get dressed up if you dont want to :)

When I saw this link I saved it. It has a chart that tells you the cruise length and how many formal nights there are. It gives you a general idea but ts for RCL though.

On Carnival if your cruise is 6 or more days, you will have 2 formal nights.

dudestir127 February 26th, 2009 10:38 AM

I'm guessing you're first formal night will be the night after your first fun day at sea, and your second formal night will be the night before your last fun day at sea.

Ainsley February 26th, 2009 06:06 PM

you will have two and i always dress up for both =)) usually carnival does their first formal night your 2nd night onboard the ship...the 2nd night im not too sure about.

I dress up too! It used to be a parental forced "you have to look nice for dinner and pictures" thing, but now that I'm getting older it is fun to shop for dresses and look nice for some pictures and dinner. I have noticed that a lot of times the sea days can determine where the formal nights are placed, but don't quote me on that one. lol

Djcarolina February 26th, 2009 06:59 PM

2nd formal night is always night 5 or 6 depending on the itinerary.

xDaisy18 February 26th, 2009 07:26 PM

wow, thanks you guys. you were all a lot of help. looks like i'll be shopping for two dresses :D

I_Live_4_Cruises February 26th, 2009 07:28 PM

Yayyy shopping! haha Think cocktail/evening dresses. Let us know what you pic or post pics of what you find to wear. :D

nace0 February 26th, 2009 07:35 PM

Uhh i hated those days where i had to dress up. It seemed pointless to me. Anyway i barely ate in the dining room anyway. LOL

I_Live_4_Cruises February 26th, 2009 07:38 PM

I always eat in the dining room. haha No choice, but then again the food is pretty good so I'm not complaining. lol

xDaisy18 February 26th, 2009 07:41 PM

hhaha yeah ill definitely post pictures when i get a dress! :D

nace0 February 26th, 2009 07:45 PM

Well for this next cruise im going to be 16 so im not going to have a way out of it. Parents wont be too happy if i ditch them to go hangout. =]

I_Live_4_Cruises February 26th, 2009 08:31 PM

I can't wait to see pics!

And my parents are the same way. I definitely can't ditch them for friends. lol

KTS1193 February 26th, 2009 10:10 PM

KTS1193 February 26th, 2009 10:11 PM

my mom doesnt care.
but i really wanna go to this time, cause the food is so good compared to the Windjammer (rccl buffet)

Djcarolina February 27th, 2009 01:59 AM

I love the formal nights, especially on the longer cruises cuz you get to dress up, look good, take pictures all that good stuff.

I don't think i've posted this one cuz I just found it, one of my formals from the freedom...

Ashleyx3 March 4th, 2009 02:19 PM

and it was a 7 day cruise

xDaisy18 March 4th, 2009 07:13 PM

I_Live_4_Cruises March 5th, 2009 02:30 PM

I have been on the Glory and there was definitely 2 formal nights. I have never heard or a 7 day Carnival cruise that didn't have 2 formal nights.
