Default Carnival Questions

ahh, i feel like a first time cruiser again going on carnival for the first time after only going on royal caribbean! i have a few questions, and i'm sure i'll come up with more as it gets closer.

1. is the first night meet & greet thing pretty much the same as on royal?

2. is there an age limit for the gym?

3. is the ship layout (carnival liberty) pretty simple? it seems so from looking at the deck plans, but my moms TA said there was a lot of "dead ends".

i think thats all for now...

I guarantee DJ will correct me but i could have sworn i remember getting into the gym at 11ish but heres what i just found:

Spa Carnival and fitness center:

Guests under 12 years of age are not permitted in these facilities.

Guests between the ages of 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Im kind of in the same position. I work out 5 times a week at home. Probably a total of 6 hours a week. Anyway my parents arent going to go out of the way to come with me to the gym. Im going to be on a Norwegian so im not sure about their policy. Even worse im going to be in the car for a 21 hour drive to florida so im going to need to get a good workout when i get there. Ill be almost 16 by then so i hope i dont get any problems.

liberty doesnt have a ton of dead ends there may be a few but not a bunch like your TA is making it out to be.. this particular class is really easy to find your way around. i was 13 on my first sailing on this class and found my way around just fine. =)

From my experience and im sure if my opinion is wrong ill be corrected the meet and greet on the first night on carnival wasnt much of a greet. basically for the 15-17 age group they just have a dance the first night no one really dances and your basically on your own to meet and greet.

im not saying it is really fun, most of the time it is kinda awkward on any line. but it is still essential to making friends.

ok, it's getting closer and i have more questions!

1. do you get the insulated cup with the soda package? i don't drink that much soda, but love the cup lol.

2. how formal is formal on carnival? i just bought 2 dresses and my mom says one is going to be too formal for carnival, but she hates to dress up whereas i love it. the dress is floor length, hot pink, and very simple. it doesn't seem any more formal then my shorter dress to me.

No the cup does NOT come with the card. Its like $5 extra I think. We bought 3 last cruise.

Formal night is half and half. I go in there looking like I'm going to a ball and some people come in with jeans on.. So just wear whatever you want. =) its getting to where its only formal when you want it to be.

I'm not going to continue to argue but I assure you that the cup is not included. Going to clarify that one last time. Just so you know.

here's a picture of the dress.
all i keep hearing is how carnival is getting less and less formal.
will i be totally out of place in this?
i'm 99.9% sure i'm wearing it no matter what, but just wanted some opinions :]
(sorry the pic is so huge!)

I don't think it's informal at all! And it's so cute! Rock that dress gurl!

I'm wearing two of my prom dresses for my two formal nights...and I dare someone to say anything. lol.

And if they do say something...tell them, "Don't be jealous cause YOU couldn't pull it off!"

Some people decide to really dress up...and some don't. I just one of those people that like to go alllll out.

: )

Getting back to the soda card, how much is it on carnival. On my 5 day norwegian its about 45 bucks. Is that ridiculous. If you think its 1.25 a coke thats like 25 in 5 days?

Hey,
I dont think youll have ANY issues with Norwegian. Think of NCL as very tolerant of us 'crazy teens' as rci and carnival feels we are. I used to go in the gym and work out at 1 am by myself when I was 11 so I think you will be fine. Which ship are you going on?

I LOVE the dress! Rock it!!

And definitely go to the meet and greet the first night. If you are energetic enough and meet enough people the party should kick off that first night, including dancing.

I have been on the Liberty (last year) and like Ainsley said it isn't at all confusing, and is a really pretty ship.

Ok, more questions! lol

1. Does this ship (Carnival Liberty) have a store onboard to buy perfume? On my past Royal cruises I've always bought a bottle in the little cosmetics store since it's a few dollars cheaper then the department stores/makeup stores here.

2. What other stores are on the ship? Are there any? lol

those of you who have been on carnival liberty or know the ship...
where would be a good place to meet someone that's not hard to find on the first day and that wouldn't be too crowded? i've been talking to a few people and i want to meet them sooner then the meet at night.

I always met people in front of Club O2 on the promenade. That was the least crowded and easiest place, plus it is air conditioned so your hair won't go crazy with all the humidity. haha
