Default Late Seating?

Usually we get a dinner time somewhere around 6 something.
Once, we had to leave an island early because we had to go back to the ship to get ready for dinner.
So my mom got a 8:15 seating...
This seems supa dupa late to me and everyone will be out of dinner clothes already.

I think I'm going to talk her out of it and hopefully our TA can change it.
We will leave all the islands way before 6 anyway.

So what do y'all do?
Main? Or Late?

i've always had late seating and have never really had a problem. my mom lets me skip dinner on the first night so that i don't have to miss the teen meet thing.

Going on NCL for the past 7 cruises, I have taken for granted the seating times. We normally go for the late seating because you can always go to the buffer instead if you get hungry earlier, and you can stay on the island longer. On my next cruise on the Explorer, we chose the late seating. I hope it will work out ok lol

I say main because you wont miss any of the activities in the club.. Ive had late seating only once and hated it! I always had to skip dessert to get to club o2 to meet my friends that had the early seating.. As far as getting ready for dinner in time you will be able to make it I promise. Out of my 8 cruises with only 1 late seating I have faired extremely well getting ready for my main seating for dinner.

We've always had late cus we eat at 7:30ish at home and 6 seems WAYY to early for us, and we like to usually have a nap/late lunch/snack when we get back from port.
It's not that hard to deal with it if everyone else has early, just have them meet you somewhere specific at whatever time you think youll be done...sometimes you might have to skip desert but that happened maybe 3/7 times on my last cruise.
And its not like anything fun happends before midnight anyway

I like late seating cause you dont have to rush back from ports or out of the sun. and the partying usually starts right after iget outta dinner anyway

I love the main dining time. It is the perfect time to eat and get dressed up without missing anything back at the Club. The kids who had late dining would have to rush to get changed and get to the club on time... personally I enjoy main dining for sure =)

late seating makes me feel rushed. because its around the time i want to go out and do things. besides, i get hungry around 6:00 so to wait another 2 hours isn't fun for me.

I agree Alex. I would be sooo hungry by late dinner I would have already eaten something else. haha

And yay Katie! I hope your family likes the earlier seating time. At least you will enjoy it. lol

I didn't even think about the teen stuff and what time that starts.
At my house, my mom cooks and we just grab and eat whenever we can since our schedules are so different.

I think I'm going to convince her to let us do main. That way me, the best friend and boyfriend can have some down time before we head out till next morning.
: )
Thanks!

AMEN! Late is the way to go. Trust me, you won't be missing anything while you at dinner.

If anything, people will be waiting on you to get done with dinner to get the party started!

Yeah that is exactly what happened when I had late seating.
A bunch of my friends did too so all the people that had early seating were just sitting around doing nothing waiting for us anyways!

It definitely depends on when the majority of the teens have dinner. I have had some cruises where the majority had late dinner causing the party to be slightly delayed, however sometimes most of the kids had an earlier dinner seating making the later dinner people a little late for the party, but nothing too major. Either way you won't completely miss all the fun, and there will definitely be other teens with your same dinning time. No worries

I just checked Carnival's website and my ship has something called 'Your Time Dining' meaning I can go can to the main dining room to eat at any time from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM without reservations and can request any table size, or even waiter.
But like, all my family is going and I would like to eat with them...so...I don't know.

Is it just me or on the first night of the cruise dinnner is way to long, dont get me wrong i love to eat but the first night dinner is like 2 hours and it takes so long for the food to come out. Good thing they give you bread throughout your meal.

haha. EVERY night is long to me.
My mom wants everyone to get ready together.
Then take candids while we are getting together.
Most of the time we are coming from a port and there is only one bathroom for the 3 of us, so that takes a lot longer.
Then she wants to take formal pictures before dinner while her "tummy still looks flat." and my little brother messes up his shirt and before I run off as soon as the last course is served to change and meet up with friends.
UGH! It's a long process.

That's why I wanted an early dinner.
