Default Anyone ever been in a relationship while cruising?

i'm sure cruises are most enjoyable for teens when they are single and are free to flirt, hookup, and hang out with anyone they please.

but i know for a fact im still going to be with my current boyfriend when i go on my summer cruise. have any of you ever had a bf/gf back at home while you were on a cruise, and what was it like?

did you have temptations to hook up and flirt?
did you? lol

any feedback is welcome

no!
i can't imagine not being single on a cruise. i'm not really a big relationship person anyway right now since i figure i'll have time for that when i'm older. i'm really curious to see people's answers to this though and what their experiences have been.

This spring break will be the first time i will be on a cruise and still have a boyfriend at home. I can imagine there being some temptation but i dont plan on cheating.

yeah me too but no ones replying!! hahaha

me and my boyfriend have talked about it. and while im like going crazy waiting for my cruise, he would much rather me not go. lol
he says he knows how people get on cruises. ya know, thousand of miles away from home, surrounded with new people wanting to hook up and have fun and no one to tell him if i WERE to cheat, and stuff like that. but i HIGHLYYY doubt i will.

like you, im mainly just curious about any one else's experience.

I've never had a boyfriend back at home when I was on a cruise, and I'm so happy for that. But I did hookup with a guy that had a girlfriend at home quite a few times on my Explorer of the Seas cruise but he never told me he had one. I found out when he added me on facebook I felt sooo bad.

I think you will be fine a ton of people have people they are dating back home and still manage to have fun!

I had a boyfriend on one of my cruises. There were plenty of temptations and even if you do tell the other ppl your in a relationship they are going to give you every explanation in the book.. I didnt cheat, but when I got home I did find out that he cheated on me while I was gone. So honestly just because your on a cruise it could go either way. I'm not saying that he will in your case but thats just what happened to me.

The guys are always cuter when you either have a boyfriend back home or bring one with you.
Like me, I had just starting dating this guy (haha, I was like 14. lol) and I went one a cruise. I hung out with a lot of the older people and they kept trying to "shoot some game". But some people who went to my school were on the ship with me (surprise! haha) and they let it known I had a boyfriend. And plus, I talked about him so much that the cute guys knew his full name and told me to tell him I said hi. haha. So when I got home, of course he drilled me and asked me 1000 questions but it was all cool.

Then the next year, my mom let me take him with us on the next cruise. So him and his older brother came with us and had a room next to us. Talking about the guys were cute?!? Oh yes. But I was with him pretty much the whole day. We made some friends and hung out with them. They were pretty cool peeps. The girls on this ship were pretty much hoebags. One girl tried to hook up with him while he was out playing basketball and because she pretty much stalked us the whole cruise...ran to back to the cabin to find me. She didn't believe that we came on the ship together and I was being greedy by "keeping all the cute cruise boys to myself." and then she cursed me out. haha. She was NUTS!

Oh yeah...forgot to add. And a new boyfriend is coming with us on this upcoming cruise. He already knows what goes down on cruises. And my best friend is coming and he says we get to wild when we get together so while he may not be around...he'll have his eye on us at parties. (creepy much? haha) But I'm going to keep an eye on him too. He's too cute. I don't wanna have to beat up anyone. Kidding.

But yeah. Trust is essential! I'm going off to college next year and he's going to be in his senior year so if I was to slip up and do something with some guy knowing he is somewhere on the ship...he would kill me! lol. And then he'll think that I'm going to do the same thing while I'm away at school.

Plus and this happened to a friend of mine. Went on a cruise, hooked up with some guy(he was sooooo cute! way cuter than her boyfriend) the guy added her on myspace, tagged her in some pictures, the boyfriend saw it and flipped out! I thought it was kinda funny...she should have checked the pictures and told him to delete them!

i thought this thread would be about something totally different after reading the title.

anyway, if you're in a relationship, hopefully you've realized you've made some kind of commitment. single life ftw.

Yes had a girlfriend (now an ex)
Killed the relationship even though I didn't hook up with anyone.
Yes it was tempting to hook up.

Nothing to be sorry about; wasn't a great relationship anyways, and I found someone better whom I have been with for over 8 months now.

Well if there was any temptation i would just not care about whoever is not on cruise. If no one will find out about it who cares. Just my opinion. I know lots of people think differently.

I left a girlfriend at home once when I went on a cruise, and on the cruise I was following "what happens on the ship stays on the ship" though I did feel a little guilty.

I could tell this one girl really liked me... it was really annoying. She kept talking to me and following me and wanting to be with me, I liked her but I couldnt let my girlfriend of 5 years down. Its funny I ended up breaking up with her a few months later on my birthday but oh well. And the girl that kept flirting with me on the cruise lives like 20 minutes away from me.

I was in a relationship last year when I cruised. I spent most of my cruise texting back & forth with my then BF.

I did go out at night, met guys, danced with them, but that was the extent of interacting with them.

I would not want my BF to to cheat on me, even though he would never find out if I would of done it on a cruise ( and I had a lot of opportunities), so when I am in a relationship, I try to keep trust and be honest, just like I expect from them.

No I didnt even bother and I kinda regret it. And the 5 years I was with the other one I barely saw her and she lived in the next town over, like 4 mins on the train. But oh well maybe this cruise I'll meet someone

yeah it was funny I only saw her a few times every month but we were pretty close believe it or not lol

I guess the reason it lasted was because each time we saw each other it was more special and we looked forward to seeing each other too

That's believable. Sounds like my relationship right now. I live in Philly she lives in South Florida. I only get to see her once a month, or once every other month or so. But each visit is more special because we don't get to see each other for extended periods of time.

I spent the summer in Florida; we met at a nightclub last July 9th.

That's exciting. I have never heard that one before. And I guess thats good that you are going to a college in Florida. Are you both going to the same college?

How did you meet your current girlfriend?
I spent the summer in Florida; we met at a nightclub last July 9th.
That's exciting. I have never heard that one before. And I guess thats good that you are going to a college in Florida. Are you both going to the same college?
Not quite; she's going to a smaller school around 5 hours drive away, which in a sense is good because it keeps some stress on the relationship, but not nearly as much as there is presently. Now a little wisdom: Long distance may be hard, but it's doable so long as you both trust each other fully and can remain faithful. In the end though, it is so worth it. Getting to see her is more special than if we lived in the same town or even in the same state where we could see each other every weekend because of the fact that I rarely do get to see her. Sure we text, spend hours on the phone together, but its the visits that are truly amazing.

Very good insight into the world of long distance relationships. Haha. The girl that I like is most likely moving 3 hours away this summer and I really want to ask her out but i feel that it would be hard to maintain the relationship. But we talk all the time and 3 hours is not that far

Well i see what you mean. Seeing is each other after all that time has got to be great. What is going to happen when you 2 are together a lot for extended periods of time. You dont know how the relationship will hold up then.
