ANYONE EVER BEEN TO OR LIVED IN CHICAGO?! (or near there)

I'm going there next week!
Its cause my bro is in a Navy program up there right now and he's graduating next week so we're going to his graduation.

im super excited. its a pretty random trip and im missing 2 days of school.
i hate air plane rides and im coming all the way from florida :/

how's the weather like up there currently? should i pack heavy jackets and stuff?

also, do you recommend going to any specific places i must see ??

i live near chicago, the weather right now is actually pretty nice, it was like 60 today? but its always cooler by the lake, also the weather can change like really fast so you have to remember that haha
whenever i go downtown i like to go to millenium park cause it just really cool to go there, but there is also a ton to do like shopping and stuff
there is so much to do in Chicago, our band/orchestra has an exchange program with these welsh kids and they have done more stuff in the time they've been here than i've done and i live here haha

definitely hit up michigan ave, it's a cool walk. also the boardwalk by the lake is nice. i visited last summer, and my favourite thing was going to a cubs game, but i don't know if you like baseball. even if you don't, wrigley field is an experience - it's crazy there and everyone gets so into the game.

I went to Chicago a few years ago. You have to go to the boardwalk with the ferris wheel and the ride with the swings that spins. haha. and if you can go to wrigley field (spelling) oh and go see the bean thingy too.

the boardwalk they were talking about isn't really a boardwalk but its called Navy Pier and it has this like huge ferris wheel and all these shops and stuff and its like totally awesome! you should totally go there!

and on the subject of the cubs, this is our year! haha

you hate flying?! how!!!!! I love flying... but then again its my job so one would hope that I love it... I have a layover in Washington DC tomorrow night. anyone know of any fun things there?

flying scares me!
the plane could crash or something

the only thing i like about it is looking at states or islands or countries from thousands of feet up in the air

i took a 10 hour flight last year to europe and oh man, it SUCKED! it was so uncomfortable to sleep and i was bored most of the time. the best part was literally the food. they gave us actual meals and they were surprisingly delicious! haha

and oh i live in south florida. around boca raton..

I absolutely LOVE flying and everything about it. I love the airport, the plane, staying in hotels, meeting new people... just everything. I wish that was my career. haha

regarding the weather, here is a perfect example of chicago weather: last friday and saturday it was like 70 degrees for the past 3 days it has been in the 40s and raining, it almost snowed today... but it should be warming up later this week!

i live in chicago! 67th michigan! south side! best city in the world. i live downtown in the dorms now though. i go to roosevelt. as for weather, it will be in the 80's friday! cant wait, i need to plan something

what hotel are you staying at when you get here? if you like it while youre here, you should come back in the summer. there is always something going on like the taste and jazz festivals and other random festivals where you can get a free show. navy pier is great, me n my friends go there whenever we get bored and have nothing to do.

once my family got bored so we decided to go to chicago for the weekend
i was only there for a few days so i didn't see much of it, but what i did see was pretty cool
millenium park and the navy pier are interesting. especially because navy pier has a giant ferris wheel, which is like my favorite thing in the world.
and i went shopping on magnificent mile or whatever its called, which was really fun
