Default RCCL Teen Club

How does Royal Caribbean divide up their teen club on the Mariner of the Seas? Is it 12-14 and 15-17 or just one big group? I don't want to hang out with a whole bunch of 12 year olds. hah

it is divided 12-14 and 15-17 but sometimes if there aren't that many teens they will combine them... i think

I really hope they are split. I actually enjoy going to the clubs on cruises. I just don't want to hang out with middle school kids for a week.

You should be split up. Idk about Mariner but on explorer we had to share optix with the little kids. They were in there earlier so we couldn't go in and then later on we were allowed to go in while all the security guards watched us lol

Royal Caribbean only combines age groups when there are less than 200 total teens onboard a Voyager or Freedom class vessel. Having sailed with a combined age group on Monarch in January, its really not that bad, because the younger kids tend to leave out of intimidation if you get a strong group of 20+ 15-17s.

Explorer, Voyager, and Adventure of the Seas are all 1st generation Voyager class vessels, and therefore they only have Optix for all teen functions as well as for any younger kids activities that have a "nightclub" theme since its the only facility on these ships that has a sound and lighting system.

On Mariner and Navigator, 2nd generation V. Class vessels, there are 2 dedicated teen facilities- The Living Room and Fuel. During the day, everyone (12-17) is free to come and go as they please in these rooms). At night traditionally 12-14 will have 2 hours in Fuel like 9-11 and 15-17 will be in the living room until 11 then they have Fuel from 11-2 or 3. One or two times a cruise the voyagers 9-11 will get from like 6-8 in Fuel, but rarely since the Voyagers and Explorers rooms have built in sound systems and lights.

At this time of the year, splitting almost never happens becauseschools will be getting out in a week or 2 and therefore the teen populations will be drastically rising and will stay high (usually 300-400 per age group on voyager/freedom) until mid-end august.

Hope it helps and eases ur concern! Have a great cruise, Mariner is the bomb & my understanding is she's doing well in her new home.

Sorry i should have clarified that.

15-17 is in the living room until 11 and then they (the 15-17 year olds) have fuel from 11-2 or 3 am. Sometimes even later depending on the director.

I'll tell you to make the absolute most of your june trip- its different once you hit the 18+ crowd, but you just have to learn the things that are different and basically "grow up", and when u do that the 18+ group is even more fun!
