EWWWWWWW!!!! How can you guys like Carnival pizza?!? Are you crazy?!?

I haven't been on Royal since Jan. 2008 but I don't remember it very well which makes me believe that it wasn't that good either!

Can someone please explain why they like Carnival pizza? lol

Oh, and what's up with everyone LOVING the buffet on either line? I don't understand that one either!!!!

Carnival pizza varies depending where you sail from, but I like it because it:

A. Tastes a lot better than Royal
B. Can be attained at any time of night without having a rentacop escort me to my room sans pizza.
C. Can be a lot of fun to eat with new friends at all hours of the night after the club.

Ok, since the cat is out of the bag, I'll ruin the trick...


NONE of the pizza is really that great and doesn't compare to a good local spot (I know I live in SC, but we have some AMAZING pizza places cuz you yankees come retire down here when ur too old to shovel snow anymore I joke...somewhat).

The pizza is good because of the experiences associated with it. Carnival keeps their pizza bar open 24/7 and most of us who've experienced it know that there are some hilarious things that go down while chomping a slice of pizza.

Heres a quick comparison:

Carnivals Dough- Sweet and thick (some liken it to Oprah)
Royal's Dough- More Traditional & Usually a little thinner and crisper

Carnival's Sauce- Usually little of it, but it's a sweeter tomato
Royal's Sauce- MINUTE amounts and a little bit saltier than CCL's

Carnival's Cheese- Usually browned over depending on who cooks & traditional white
RCI's Cheese- Idk what kind of cheese they use but it turns to plastic quickly

Carnival's Toppings- CCL does italian named pizza's Margherita, Napolitana etc. But they have 4-5 different kinds. They also have salads & calzones.
Royal's Toppings- They usually just stick to Cheese & pepperoni...though some ships put other random things on at times. Most ships don't offer anything with the pizza unless it's on a voyager/freedom ship then it's either part of or close to the Proménade Café.

The pizza is horrible and the buffet is probably even worse! When I go to the buffet, only on the days that I can't eat in the main dining room on either line, I honestly can't look at the stuff. I eat better at home than that buffet! I just don't understand why people like the food. Yes, I understand you can eat pretty much whenever you want and people like that, but I think the food is gross. For me and my family, we eat every meal we possibly can in the main dining room. We take 2 hours for dinner and truly dine. We are always having short meals at home so when we're on vacation, we want to relax and having a dining experience. Even though some of the food is the same as the buffet, the presentation makes it much more enjoyable. You eat with your eyes!!!
