Default Christmas/New Years cruise ? please help

hiii, my family cruises every summer with carnival! we started out leaving from Florida, but now we leave from New York because its more convenient for us because its only an hour drive, and alot cheaper then flying! I love going from New York because i meet people so close, and i also like going in the summer because i feel like thats when more teens go! I'm 16 years old and my family wants to go on a Christmas/New Years cruise in 2010! We've never done something like this and i was wondering if alot of teens go, and what its like it seems like it would be more family time then new friend time? We'll have to leave from FL which will be a bummer, since like i said i loved leaving from NY! please let me know, im worried not alot of teenagers go at this time because of school and everything!!!!! :[ Please give me your input! especially if you've been on a christmas cruise!

i've been on a christmas cruise on RCL's Navigator of the Seas before & didn't really like it! there were a lot of teens, however most of them were always with their families. it was just my mom and i that went and it seemed like most of the ship was full of big families which made it a lot harder for us to meet people. we made the best of it & still had a good time, but as a teen i deffinitly prefer summer or spring break.

i've never been for new years, but i'm going this year. it leaves after christmas, so i don't have to worry about the "family time" problem. i've heard new years cruises are amazing!

hope this helps!

ive been on about 3 xmas cruises on carnival and 1 new years cruise (we arr booked for new years on the glory this december 27th). all cruises were fab. but of course, like already said, most teens had to spend timr with their families. now on the last new years cruise, i wast really looking for teens to hang out with since i couldnt hang in o2 anyway. but there were still plenty. i had soooo much fun especially the new years party! choose new years. dont worry about the number of teens because just like u are on winter break, so are a bunch of other teens

What line would you be going on? If you're on a family friendly line like Royal Carribean or Carnival, you should have no problem meeting people. However, a friend of mine went on a Christmas/New Years Cruise on Cunard Line (which is an upscale line--more for elderly folk) and she said there were barely any teenagers on board. So I'm guessing it also depends upon which line you choose.
