Christmas Cruise!?

My family is talking about going on RCI's Freedom of the Seas for Christmas...

Has anyone experienced Christmas on a cruise? How are the people on the boat during the holiday season? Is it more relaxed/family oriented or are the dance clubs still hoppin' like crazy??

Haven't personally experienced it, but from what I have heard, it does tend to be more family oriented. You'll definitely have as many people as usual [for an on-season cruise] though.

I went on Navigator of the Seas for Christmas '05. It was definitely more family oriented. There were tons of teens (the capt. said about 250 between 15-17), it was just a matter of finding people who didn't have to always be doing family time. It also made a big difference that it was just my mom and I traveling and the rest of the ship seemed to be large families using the cruise as a family reunion. It probably also made a difference that it was 5 nights instead of 7. I personally didn't like the Christmas cruise as much as my other cruises, but there's no way to have a bad cruise! I'm sure you'll have a blast

Definitely want to hear about it. Cruising for christmas is obviously different from christmas at home. Personally, I like a family-oriented holiday so a cruise probably wouldn't be the best for me.
