Default Cruising in the off-season

The spring and summer cruise season may be over, but is anybody cruising this fall and winter? I know I'm probably not but I'd love to hear about all of you.

I've cruised in Feb. and I was told by the teen staff that there were only 12 kids (ages 3 to 17) on the entire ship. That was my most relaxing cruise ever! I LOVED my cruise in August minus the excessive heat!!!

February is very dependent on when Northeast schools are on break. There is a spike when "winter break" comes around, and then it drops off until March when the official Spring Break - Summer season begins. Summer will end in Mid-August, and then it will be off-season until later in December.

OK...since you are the experts in all things teen, have you gone the week before or week after thanksgiving break and if you have, and were there many teens? are there also differences in the age catagory and cruise line? We are going on the carnival splendor and last time on carnival my daughter had hardly anyone to hang out with, it was late Feb and the ship didn't have an area for her 12-14 age group, she's now 17 so the ship has a place for that age group and we are hoping since we are going right after thanksgiving that there may be more teens since it's so close to a school break.

As I understand it, Thanksgiving has always been the slowest during the on-season, and the fact that you are going right AFTER Thanksgiving and while everyone (including the college kids) are in school means that you'll probably be looking at maybe a handful of teens onboard as if you were cruising in late February.

I'm leaving on Tuesday for my Cruise on Thursday. (I live in Canada so we're going to the states for a couple days). We always cruise in the off season, but I have my sister with me who is only 2 years younger then me and we're pretty close so its alright
