Actually, believe it or not, there is. Both myself (I consider myself pretty well cruised) as well as Ryan (who hasn't been on here in a while, but was probably the most decorated cruiser on here), can attest to the existence of a bad cruise.

My Norwegian cruise sucked pretty bad, mainly because the ship was a Titanic-esque size ship with a total lack of amenities save a pool and a basketball court.

Also, my Adventure of the Seas cruise was nothing to brag about either. It was my first cruise with the RCI "curfew" and honestly, I loathed it. Those two cruises, to date, remain my bottom two, and I consider them to have been bad cruises.

No prob. Other factors that can make a cruise go sour include:

1. Poor crowd
2. Poor amenities
3. Poor weather
4. Poor service
5. Poor food
6. Stressful events/drama/medical emergencies

My cruise on Crown Princess a few years ago. The youth staff was mean. The info desk people were clueless. The entertainment as boring. And the food sucked. The only good things about the cruise was the room, and the 2nd port of call (Bermuda).

a cruise i went on in 2004 was severely screwed up. we left a day late due to an accident in the miss river so we had to be transported to another port and that was after i spent 14 hours in a terminal. we left the next afternoon so we missed a port of call. the 2nd port of call we were not able to tender due to high seas and the 3 port of call was cozumel and i had been there sooo many times before. but all in all it was a good cruise.. you honestly just have to make the best of what you are given and hope for the best. but yes a cruise can absolutely suck i just choose to look at the positive side of it.

I went on Navigator of the Seas for Christmas a few years ago, and although it wasn't horrible, it just wasn't as good as my other cruises. The ship seemed to be full of big families due to it being a holiday cruise. It was just my mom and I cruising, so it was a lot more difficult to meet people since it seemed like everyone came with people do hang out with and weren't too concerned with making new friends. It was definitely a different experience.
