Default Hey Everyone!

Hey guys. How's everyone doing? I can't believe I haven't been on Cruisemates in like 3 or 4 months, maybe even longer. School is just so time consuming and stressful - stupid junior year!
Though you guys probably don't care (maybe you do) I'll share what's happened in the past few months. Let's see:
- I got my braces off last Tuesday after 4 years
- I'm now 17
- Had a solo in Winter Concert last night and people said I did amazing and some people said they teared up (AKA mom haha)
- AP classes are horrible and frustrating
- Took SAT twice.
- Started looking at colleges
- Gotten to know and become good friends with a lot of new people.
- Etc. Etc. Etc

Oh wow I just realized that there are a lot of new people on this board (such as motocrossdude and itsalliwant or something like that and probably a lot of other people) so I guess I should introduce myself. I am Michael and I am 17 and a junior in high school like aforementioned. I have only been on one cruise. Umm if there's anything else you want to know just ask. ALso what are you new peoples' names? As you might have noticed a lot of people on here use a first name system so... Haha. Well this is long but look forward to connecting and chatting with everyone else again.

Welcome back Michael, good to hear from you.

I guess no one mentioned to you that AP means Advanced Procrastination. And Procrastination makes things very difficult.

Seriously though, junior year was probably the most frustrating [for me] out of the four. And yes, AP classes are death, but keep in mind that college will move at an AP pace or faster.

I am so with you Michael!
Junior year sucks!! I'm also drowning in my work because I missed 2.5 days of school this week because of fieldtrips and I'm missing one day next week so I have all my make-up work plus the normal work... so much fun! haha
Welcome back to Cruisemates!!

Glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way about Junior year. Haha
Amanda - I wish I could say that my senior year will be easy but I already know it won't because my dream school looks at midterm grades for senior year so I am going to have to focus and not get "senioritis". I am probably taking 4 or 5 APs next year - UGH!

Don't get too psyched out by the midterm grades thing. Just don't go getting C's and D's. I mean, I got away with C's and FSU checked my final transcript, so I think you'll be fine.

I really want senior year to be super chill but I know that it won't end up being like that because now at least all my senior friends are super stressed about getting into colleges and at lot of really smart people got rejected from university of illinois and I really want to go there

have fun senior year of HS because once you get into college, unless you study a bulls*** easy degree, youll be swamped with work. i know studying ship design im always swamped.

Your workload in college really depends on how good a high school you came from (thank or hate your parents for this one). I found that my college work (and I wouldn't call my degree excessively easy - Business Management/Administration) is on the easier side. I only get swamped around exams and due dates, but there is always time to go out on the weekends (again, relative to exams/due dates). Weekdays are pretty much study, but there will be one or two here and there where I choose to go out. Just depends on how effective your time management is, how difficult your courses are, and how good your high school prepped you.

I have to agree with Mike, I took honors and AP classes through high school that really challenged me. Because of that, college has been an absolute breeze. I got an A in every one of my 6 courses leaving me with a 4.0 and I think i did maybe 1 of the homework assignments (homework isn't required, just recommended). College life is sooooo much better than high school, and I had a pretty awesome high school experience.

As for Junior year- it was pretty good for me, but my first two years were without much excitement, so i guess it leveled out. The spring semester is always better because you have spring break, prom and the closer to summer it gets, the more parties there are (and the more good reasons to escape on weekend cruises).
