Default Oil Spill and Cruising

I was wondering how much of an impact the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is having on cruises out of Gulf Cost ports (New Orleans, Mobile, Galveston, etc.) Is there any effect at all? You guys think it will have much of an impact on the cruise industry at all? I think it will really hurt cruising if it spreads to the East Coast, in the way of ships going to the Caribbean from the big ports in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Northeast ports like New York.

What are your opinions?

Its an oil spill. Ships are okay to sail through it (or Mobile Galveston and NOLA would all be shut down). Environmental impact will probably hurt cruises from New York and the northeast once it comes around Florida, but the effect will be limited to those and sailings with stops in Florida, Bermuda, and the Bahamas. Caribbean sailings should be unaffected.

I'm studying in college how to design and build ships so I do know ships will be ok sailing through oil. I read that ships would be required to be cleaned before entering any port, at least any US port, if they sailed through oil. And I don't know about you or anyone else, but I don't know if I would want to be on a cruise through oil as opposed to seawater.
