Just joined the site.
Going on my first cruise at the end of October. ;-)
Anybody got any info on the ship or even pic of cabins ?
Im 16 (M) and wonderin if many teens travel this time of year too ?
Thanks
Voyager of the Seas
1st Generation Voyager Class vessel - (Optix instead of Fuel/Living Room)
Entered service 1999 as largest cruise ship in the world (138,000 GRT)
Distinct Amenities:
Rock Wall
Mini Golf
Ice Skating
Roller Blading
Basketball Court (full size)
Curfew on all RCL ships is 1am for all guests under 18 unless they are with someone 18+ after the curfew is enacted.
The Royal Promenade (located deck 5 forward to aft) is a great place to grab pizza, chill with new friends before (or after) the club, etc...
Johnny Rockets is worth trying at least once
The soda card (unless you plan on drinking more than 2 sodas per day) is really not worth it...I personally don't drink that much soda. Better to save the cash for something more worthwhile
Best place to watch sail away is the bow (or front) of the ship. You can get there by exiting (deck 4 either forward or aft, but forward is a much shorter walk). The exits are usually right by the stairs, walk towards the front (away from the restaurant), and up the stairs.
From what I could tell last time I saw her (March '10), she was in desperate need of some exterior work. Paint was rusting, and on the fly repairs had been made that should have gotten a permanent replacement. Not sure what her interior condition is.
As for number of cruisers, I'm not sure how the Mediterranean market fairs with teens (or adults) this time of year, but this is "offseason" in the US and Caribbean markets. I would imagine the same unless schools are out in time for your cruise.
Welcome to the site, and let me know if you have any questions.

Thats great information and is really usefull
For the activities such as the Rollarblading and Ice Skating do you need your own skates or can you rent them on the cruise ? :???:
Is food paid for in the price of cruise or do I have to buy it seperatly on the cruise ?
Cruises come with food in the main restaurants and on the Lido deck as well as Cafe Promenade. All other things (soda, specialty restaurants, liquor/alcohol/virgin drinks) are separate. Most juices come free of charge. Coffee/Tea are free if you pick them up in the Cafe, or if you go to the tea time on board (not sure if they still have it). If you're a sushi type of guy, I think Lido restaurant usually serves sushi right before normal dinner time (between 4-6ish), also a free food.
Here's a list of everything food-wise that usually gets a charge:
Portobello's is NOT a free restaurant.
Cappuccinos are also charged for in the main dining room
Smoothies (if offered) are usually charged unless otherwise noted; this includes virgin daiquiris, coladas, etc...
Sodas and energy drinks are charged for ($2 and $5 each respectively, though that might change for your cruise)
Fresh squeezed orange juice (not the concentrate ones) are charged
Johnny Rockets is a charged restaurant (forget if it is pay to enter, or pay per dish or both)
Free food locations:
Cafe Promenade (24 hours usually)
Main Dining Room (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Lido Deck Restaurant (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) - usually open early
As for the activities, you can rent everything (well, its free to rent) on board or bring your own, but you still need a waiver to do any of them. The waiver can be obtained at the individual locations (Sports Deck for Rock Climb/Roller Blade, Deck 3 for the ice). Since you're under 18, I believe you'll need a parental signature to complete the waiver.

Thats great stuff Michael
I now feel I have all the right information to have no worries.
Is there anything else you would suggest for me to do to enjoy the cruise that bit more ?
Regards, Brian
Sorry about the delay Brian, I had a long end of the week.
Few more things to help:
Definitely do the teen club, especially on the first night. It is the best way to meet new people, and if the cruise lacks teens it will be a good way to have fun.
Plan your time out wisely. There is a lot to do, and the ship itself could be a port of call; plan out your days, but don't make it a chore either.
Check the daily flyer for activities (the teen flyer is published independently of the normal shipwide flyer).
If you want to work out, the gym is usually open to 16+ if I recall correctly, but there is always the outdoor jogging track that is great particularly on windy days for resistance training.
Be outgoing. Yes it is awkward. It is awkward for them too. Awkward, meet awkward. Now put that aside and really get to know each other.
I think that's pretty much it. If you have questions, feel free to ask. I don't think there is too much else to add to this.
