Why can't HAL suggest a tipping scale like every other mid-ranged cruise line.
Their "tipping not required" is very misleading. It says tipping is not requires, and I know tipping is never required, but is often times expected.
I booked HAL because I thought the tip was included in the fare. I could have cruised Princess for the exact same itinerary except the private island for $100.00 less. I factored in the tip and said they are the same price. So I iopted for HAL. Now I learn that a tip is expected by the crew.
Talk about misleading advertising. HAL should make their intentions clearier. I had intended to tip but, not as much as I normally would on a ship like Princess or NCL. Now I am made to feel like a cheapskate because I question tipping.
HAL better be hands-down far superior to other lines.
