Default Tipping amount?

A couple would tip twice the amount of a single cruiser - correct? My husband and I are EACH supposed to tip the cabin steward $3.50/day - right?

Samantha,
I called Carnival about this and was told the tip amount per day was for 1 person.
If anyone has heard differently, please let me know. I had budgeted for the two of us, for the trip.
Thanks,
mrmrsb

We are cruising on the Princess Grand in a week and I read on Princess' website that starting in January 2002 they instituted a $10 per person per room for stateroom and dining personell.

Question...we are 2 adults and 2 children and have 2 rooms (same price as one, why not ), Our children are 9 and 6. Should we pay the same ammount for tips as adults?

Hi Mike,
Yes, I always tip the same when traveling with our kids. They are just as much work as an adult, may-be more so. The waiteres in the dinning room usualy go out of their way to make the kids happy, so they deserve the same tips.

Do we tip everyone (other than bartenders and room service personnel) at the end of the cruise? When do you tip your wine steward - do you tip him at the same time you tip your waiter - is this done the last night of the cruise? thanks

Sam,
When you order wine from the wine steward, there is an automatic 15% tip added to your bill at time of service, so no need to tip extra, unless of course you think he deserves it. In that case just tip him when he's bringing you wine.

Enjoy!
