Tipping in other eating areas
So what is the "rule" for tipping when you eat in areas other than the formal dining room??? We will be sailing with two small children and consequently expect to not eat dinner every night in the dining room. I will still tip the waiters in the dining room -- realizing they are counting on that money --- but do you also tip elsewhere??? And, who do you tip in the other areas to eat???
Re: Tipping in other eating areas
It is not necessary to tip wait staff in the buffet area and ect. The tips from your dining room staff are pooled. Room service is usually tipped $ 1 or $ 2.00 per tray. I also tip the omelets maker a dollar when I use him in the buffet area, and the pizza man if I ask for a special order. I get a roll of the $ 1.00 gold coins, and the crew seems to really enjoy getting them. Your bar tab will have 15% added, so no need to tip them extra unless you feel like it.
