Default RC tips at specialty restaraunts?

We just got back from a cruise on the RC Radiance of the Seas. We ate 4 nights at a the specialty restraurants -- where there is a $20pp fee which is stated "includes tips". Therefore, we only ate at the regular dining room 3x. How should we have tipped? We tipped the recommended rate for 3 nights -- not for the whole cruse, since we only ate there 3 nights. Was this appropriate?

Also -- we didn't eat in the dining room for breakfast or lunch...

I recently returned from a Disney cruise, and we were told the surcharge at the private dining room was for the tip. After dinner the server told us several times the tip was not included, so of course we tipped an additional 15%.

Happy Sailing!

Royal Caribbean International encourages the guests to recognize excellence and, for your ease in preparing for the cruise, the following amounts are suggestions only:

Waiter - $3.50 per person per day
Assistant Waiter - $2.00 per person per day
Stateroom Attendant - $3.50 per person per day
Head Waiter/Maitre d'- $.75 per person per day
Other service personnel are at your discretion

Gratuities may be paid by the following ways:
Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your booking agent
Added to your onboard SeaPass account
Paid in cash at the end of the cruise
Envelopes will be provided in the stateroom on the last night of the cruise for the gratuities.

Note: A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill and or wine check when you are served.

Hi Megan,
We tip for the entire week, even if we don't eat in the dining room every evening, I think thats what you are supposed to do.
