Our family of 15 is going on a cruise. We are very confused about the tipping issue. There will be 7 children with us who will most likely eat burgers and pizza the whole time. Do most people take the tips off their account at the beginning of the cruise? Do they frown upon people tipping as they go? None of us have been on a cruise and we didn't realize the "tipping" expense until after we talked to a couple of people that have been on a cruise before. What kind of money are we looking at for a five day cruise for 15 people?
Which cruiseline? Some have a lower tip suggestions for children, some don't. But yes, plan on about $10 per person per day.
You can't really "tip as you go." I can't imagine trying to chase the room steward down everyday for his daily tip. You are better off leaving it on your sign and sail and adjusting up or down as you see fit.

The recommendation is $10 per person / day for your that will be $150 a day that x 7 = $1050,-
I guess you're confused about that tip of more than $1000,- It's its really crasy I know. So the best thing to do is ask yourself wat do you want to pay? the if you're on board go to the credit desk and ask to zero or stop the automatic tipping. At the last day make sure you have you're cash ready to tip the persons you would like to pay.
