Default What are the chances I can get my dinner seating changed?

I would like to change my dinner seating. I am currently on a wait list. Do I stand a chance? Someone suggested seeing the Maitre d' as soon as I boarded, along with a tip in my hand. Does this work? How much $$ do you suggest?

My ship sails on Sunday, 3/28.

Yeah, I think the Maitre 'D will probably be able to help you out if the request is not too burdensome for him, especially if you hand him a $20 bill. That is, if you are only requesting to move dinner times for a couple, or maybe 4 people. If you are trying to reassign 15 people then it will be tough. And you can't be picky about which table either.

Most Maitre 'Ds will help if at all possible. Do it early !! Wait till after the effort is made on his part b/4 the bribe (Imeantip). ;-)

See the M'aitre D ASAP. He will have hours before sailing. Ask when and where. Be nice, calm smile, etc He wants to make you happy and to please you. I would tip him only if he comes through. He may he will see what he can do after the first night. I have always been accomodated. When he makes the adjustment, give a tip that night when you see him,

We had a group of eleven people that we had switched. We thought when we booked that it was all taken care of.
We had to go to a certain area on the ship to meet with those who do the seating charts. There were LOTS of people there.
They have huge seating charts out and just pencil in changes where necessary.
I would certainly check with information as soon as you board to find out where you need to report to do this.
Happy Cruising!
