Going on an RCI cruise and was wondering about the people in the kids program. Does anyone tip them? If so, who? I imagine that there are many counselors that will interact with my son. Do I tip all of them? That could get real expensive.
Also, I have never ordered roomservice on a cruise before but I probably will this time. I see the general consensus is to tip the server. Do I do that in cash or do I sign something and they add it to my bill?
Not having any experience with camp counselors, can't help ya'. The roomservice wait staff should be tipped in cash for each delivery. $1-2 for a simple order of drinks / snacks. Perhaps a $5 for a full meal. Use your judgement. You will not be presented a signature slip unless you order alcohol / sodas. Happy kruzin.
IJust wondering.... If all tips are pooled (laundry, chefs and others behind the scene etc...), then aren't the camp councelors included as well? Or are they and entertainers on a different salary schedule? We're sailing in April on NOS. TIA
I do not know the answer about the camp counselors either, as my kids are adults now. But, as far as tipping for room service, we've always done this in cash. If you do not order something that must be charged for, there will not be a charge slip to add a tip to.

Yes, you should tip the youth counselors. They work very hard at keeping your young ones safe and entertained. They are on a different pay scale, just like the entertainers.
Tip at your discretion. For my 2 children, the kids loved going to the "camp", the youth counselors were my number one list for a tip priority. Have a great cruise !!!
i have a 4 year old who only went to the camp at night maybe 4-5 hours which is was great he loved it we usually tip the youth staff the most they seem to really like thier job we been on 4 cruuise with my son never had a promblem we gave 100 dollars for week which is still alot cheaper then a babysitter and they can make some friends to play with
Wow...glad I saw this topic. I never thought about the camp counselors, but this will be the first time taking our kids (8 and 11). We plan to take full advantage of Camp Carnival....for our sanity and our kids sanity......I really need to know how much to tip for a one week cruise. Also, who do I give it to???
