Default Tipping in Euros

Since we are on a Med tour in September (Splendour - Sept 4) and are planning on taking many shore excursions we will be using Euros during our days on land.

At the end of our cruise would it be inappropriate to tip with our leftover Euro currency (in equivalent US dollars).

I would assume not since many of the cruise will be from European countries - but I have not seen the subject addressed and need some input

On European itineraries there's no problem at all tipping in Euros.

When in Rome... I would think euros would be more beneficial then Dollars.

Received our docs this week and in the getting settled section of the Royal docs it states that all gratuities must be paid in cash in US Dollarrs or charged to your Sea Pass Card.

Anyone run into problems with this on European cruises

i think thats because the cruise line doesnt want to be bothered with an exchange rate if a crewmember decides to put all of his tips on his account for safe keeping

Will they refuse your tip if given in Euros? If in Europe I would think a tip in Euros would be welcomed, as should any gratuity.

I don't think I would apprieciate being told in what currency to tip. I mean they already tell you how much to tip, now they tell you how. Baloney, I would tip in Euros, I mean it's not like pesos or something hard to deal with.
