A Sign & Sail card is and onboard credit card where all the charges you made on board will be charge on.
But do you need this card since all the meals and entertainment is included; NCL advertized with the following statement:
What does my cruise fare include?
Your cruise fare entitles you to accommodations, meals and entertainment aboard ship. Certain specialty restaurants are available with either nominal cover charges or fixed price menus and à la carte pricing in addition to the standard dining program. Items of a personal nature are not included, such as alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, spa treatments, certain specialty exercise classes, laundry, photographs, casino, ship-to-shore phone, e-mail, Internet, fax and Shore Excursions (including all Dive In™ programs). Government taxes and fees are also not included.
So if you like to keep your vacation low, dont mind drinking Water and Ice tea (Its more healty than soda's), have a photocamara of your own; you dont need a sigh & sail card. Also no hassle with service charges (a nieuw word for Tips).
Does anyone have experiance cruising without a sigh & sail card ? and did you mis it?
You will need your sign/sail card to get on and off the ship, its also your cabin key, so yes, you need it. If you don't make any purchases onboard with it, thats OK, but you still do need to keep it with you.
