Hi – A query regarding room service and tipping.
We have taken at least 12 cruises and never used room service.
On our next cruise in a weeks time we thought it might be nice to breakfast on our aft balcony courtesy of room service.
We always tip according to the guidelines and certainly wouldn’t dream of expecting our cabin steward to tidy up our clothes etc for us. The most we expect of our room steward is for him/her to make the bed, keep the bathroom clean and to supply fresh towels.
Is it necessary to tip each time we request room service – or is this covered by the normal level of tipping?
Any advice gratefully received!
Yes, its customary to tip the person who delivers your room service at the time. Depending on your order, a few dollars is fine. Its nice to have room service for breakfast, also works as a wake up call, they usually call right before they bring up your order, enjoy that balcony!
