Tipping the maid?

I have read everything in the Roycal Carribean Cruise Line book about tipping, and I have no problem about tipping the reccomended 10 pp per day for the services that they will be providing when I go on my trip. The only thing I have to ask is do that $10 dollars include the maids or do I have to leave a separate amount for them...that is I'm assuming that the stateroom person and all of that isn't the maid. I have never cruised before and I just want to be sure that everyone is covered in the $10, or is somebody being left out that I should be aware of so that I can leave them a separate amount.

Thanks!

The room steward will keep the room clean. He or she will be there twice a day to clean the room and provide fresh towels and provide bed turn down service. The room steward is included in the $10 a day tip. I think it breaks down to $3.50 per person per day.

Re: Tipping the maid?

On a ship the maid is referred to as a room steward or cabin attendant. This person is more than a maid however. Sure, this person will clean the room for you, but they are there to take care of any number of other needs you may have.

The maid you refer to is called a cabin attendant, and he or she is compensated from the daily tip.
