tipping for babies
We just got back from RCI, Spledour 2/5-2/12. This was our first cruise and I admit, at first I was thinking we were getting ripped off having to tip for our baby, she is 16 mos old. I was wrong. We tipped full price for her (same as us). The staff bent over backwards for her, and we felt it was well worth it to tip them for their efforts. She made messes at dinner, she made messes in the room. It was all taken care of. I'll be happy to answer any questions if you have any!

Re: tipping for babies
Ahh yes a 16 month old baby is a different story then a six month old baby. We cruised with a 6 month old and a 20 month old. The older one did make work and mess. The little one just sat on my lap, and slept with me, so we did 1/2 tip for him but not older child.

Re: tipping for babies
First off you should have though about not bringing such a young baby with you.

Glad you did the right thing and tipped well. I bet the next-cabin neighbors deserved a tip too, if your baby cried at night. like they tend to do.

Re: tipping for babies
I don't believe that children need to tip quite as much as adults. In my case, I am usually the one cleaning up after them, not the room attendant.........
Why would you not bring your child? You are mom and dad, there is no real on off least we haven't found
Next time, just go to the customer service deck on board and prepay a decent amount for a child, but surely not full price!

On celebrity they suggest that you tip half of what adults tip.
