"While tipping is still optional on HAL ships, "nominal" gratuities of $10.00 per person per day are automatically added to the shipboard account for dining and stateroom service. The amount can be increased, decreased or removed by visiting the front desk. A service charge of 15 percent is automatically added to bar bills."
don't you have 3 people to tip a day? $210 in tipping for a 7 day cruise when other cruise lines are $10 total a day, not $10 a person!!
It is $10 per person per day on other cruise lines too. We paid it on both Carnival and Royal Caribbean. When we cruised with our four kids we paid $420 for a 7 day cruise in tips, plus tipped some staff a little extra.

Most all cruiselines recommend $10 per person/per day, not just Holland.

I can't belive this.. It must be a joke.. The person is the passenger, not the staff.. But, anyway it will still be $210 for the trip.. (3 persons X 7 days X $10.00= $210).. Hey, I know that you all know that.. Have fun.. OM
Old Man.........looks like some confusion in what the OP read on the HAL brochure and how he asked his question. He's asking how much he has to tip, which was answered ($10 per day total). He thought he had to tip 3 people $10 per day.
