Prepaid Gratuities

When I prepay Carnival's recommended gratuities, does that cover the room service waiter or is that considered a separate item? If separate, is a tip usually given at the time of each service or at the voyage's end? I think I'm having a bit of trouble with the terminology.

We usually tip for room service each time it is delivered. On Carnival you sign for your delivery, I suppose you could put a tip on that slip, but we always tip cash.

The same here. We tip in cash at the time room service is delivered. It is not always the same person bringing it and it just seems more appreciated, possibly because that person can slip in their pocket, rather than waiting for it to go into the "pot" if you put in on the slip.

I too tip cash to the room service wait staff as I know they get pretty much nada otherwise..
