Default the whole envelope thing on the last night on rccl

poor taste, its like everyone is waiting for their envelope, one question i have is, we put extra $$ in the envelope along with the form rccl had provided for us in our state room, how nice of them!! anyway do they keep the extra cash or do they turn the whole envelope in???

the whole thing is shady, i'm not by any means trying to get out of tipping, i think people who take care of you on your cruise should be rewarded personally and that they should not have to share their tips!

If you put your tips on your "Sea Pass" account, and get the receipt voucher to turn over to the staff, they are allowed to keep any extra cash tips over and above the suggested amount.

If you simply give cash, without the voucher, they are expected to turn in the cash to the pool.

Your comment that should be noted is "they are expected to turn in" the amount.

I am uncomfortable with the last night's tipping system. I have always had the most wonderful, happy, kind and so attentive wait staff on RCCL. they are the best. They work hard etc etc. I always over tip. Always want to. But it is an uncomfortable experience.... thoughts like, will I give to the waiter on arrival to the dining room. Shall I wait until the end of the meal. Then i have often encountered some Guests leaving without giving a tip, which I also feel bad about. Is there a different way ??

On RCCL [does not apply to any other line] if you put your tips on your sea pass account, the voucher and envelope is a waste of paper. It is only done for the passengers peace of mind or ego. If your tips are on your account, your wait team and room steward WILL GET THE MONEY. Voucher or no voucher.

Think about it! An EASILY reproduced voucher can be turned in for CASH. Not hardly!
