tipping for other services
You might be able to tell by this question we don't get out much! :( We our set to take our first cruise in June. We will need to take a taxi from our hotel to the pier. Is it appropriate to tip our taxi driver? What about the people who take our luggage? We are going to be sailing with Royal Caribbean. How do we get the cruise line to charge the gratuities for the ship to our account on board?

Yes to both the cab driver and the people you give your luggage to at the pier. Cab driver will depend upon what your fare is and a few bucks for each piece of luggage you check in at the pier.

When you check-in at the pier, ask about the auto tipping, they should be able to set it up. Also a good idea to get into the Royal Caribbean web site and fill in all your information. That will make embarkment easier and quicker.

Hope you enjoy your first cruise. What ship are you on?
