After reading several posts on different gripe areas, I've noticed that one thing is in common between several - Crew complacency. I'm under the impression that crew are told to "never say no" too much. They are afraid of angering or upsetting any passengers, even if, in doing so, they're angering or upsetting the complainant - doesn't make sense, but...
The only way to get anything done is to usually elevate the complaint and be willing to keep elevating. Most complaints, though, are pretty trivial and don't deserve a court martial. Easiest to turn the other cheek, I guess...
