Default This ones is for the Rick-ster

"Actually Tigger (love that name <G>)..One has a better chance of "croaking" from being overweight according to the US Surgeon General. You are not overweight are you? 1 out of 5 smoke.......6 out of 10 are overweight/obese. Since you are so concerned about what others do, maybe you should patrol the dining room and if you see anyone ordering 2nd's, squirt them. What tha heck, just force your opinion of right and wrong on everyone and establish a squirt patrol on the entire ship. I should ask, are you a good swimmer? <G>.
Rick"

I'm far from overweight, I'm a vegetarian & a fitness nut. Quit smoking when I started to cough up blood (age 46 then 58 now). Don't drink in excess, don't drive after having just one.
I'm opinionated when it comes to smoking, I was a polite smoker, never smoked in a non-smokers house, always ask the person next to me of they minded if I light up, but mostly didn't just incase they were being polite. I know that when someone invades my breathing space with a cigarette, they're helping me develope lung cancer. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I agree that smokers need to smoke in a smoking designated area. I do not smoke in a non smoking area. That said, I don't like to have non smokers invade my area of "fog" with their non smoking attitudes. If I am sitting in a smoking area, with ash trays all around (HELLO) I don't ask if someone minds if I smoke. <G>

It's a polite thing to do, I did it in public areas where smoking was allowed. It just might be that the person next to me was a non-smoker. I was never a hard nosed smoker, smoking was never that important to me.

If the area is a designated area there is no need to 'ask' for permission. Permission is assumed when you are in that area. BTW, I am a non-smoker and have a hard time in many cases being around smoke now BUT, I was a smoker once and know how hard it is to quit, it ain't easy.

I bet it is a lot easier to not start than it is to quit. We should be nice to the smokers. Afterall, they won't be with us much longer....

Actually , if one would read the news, smokers will be "with us" longer than overweight/obese people according to the US Surgeon General. Do you know who that is? 1 out of 5 smoke...........6 out of 10 are overweight/obese. I can do the Math...so now I would like to say.. please be nice to over eaters, obese and over-weight people, afterall they won't be with us much longer <G>. Death doesn't discriminate.

I have never smoked, am not overweight, and exercise at least 30 minutes every day. I have no idea when I will die, but I really feel good and enjoy every day. We live in a free country. If someone wants to smoke all the time, overeat or wear, what some consider, ugly clothes, that is their business, not mine. It only becomes my concern when someone blows smoke in my face, tries to sit on my lap if they are huge or permeates the air around me if they don't use deoderant. Yhen, the fit hits the shan!

Please don't confuse the real "Rickster" with "Rick"
The real Rickster has no idea what you are talking about.
