Default casual cruising

My husband and I have been cruising for 15 years now. In the last five years we have taken many cruises. I have not counted them lately but think we are up to around 15. The first ones we were on we were kind of awed by formal nights and while my husband and others in our group never wore tuxedos, they always wore suits or sportcoats, shirts and ties, they still do. The ladies enjoy dressing up too while not into the sequins or really formal dress. Our kids have started cruising now and they do dress up for formal nights. However, the rest of the nights they do exactly what they want to.
I think that this is what most people want to do now. We don' t want to be told what we have to do. However, if there are people who want to wear the tuxedos and and the formal dresses and go to the Captain's Dinner party to dance, go!!!!!!!!!!!! but don't expect everyone who comes to the dining room that night to be formal. A shirt and tie for the men,yes and the ladies, very nice dinner wear but to have to be formal - no!!.

I don't even want to have to wear a tie and jacket! That is not my idea of vacation relaxation. Last week on the Sky I dressed each and every night in Dockers and a Polo shirt. On "Formal" night, we went to the main dining room late, and were not out of place at all. Today a cruise ship is nothing but a floating resort, it is the destination, not it's ports. Resort casual is what I am now looking for in cruise apparel. NCL seems to be in the forefront of many trends, as they are with Freestyle. Just announced the new RCI brand Island Cruises out of LA will be resort casual all cruise long.

I am sure that coming late to dinner was KEWL too.

When I was in school a fist fight was a big thing. Now adays kids shoot each other and eleven year olds rape eight year olds. God Bless freestyle everything. There should be no social norms or no rules of society, we pays our money we shoots whose we wants!
